Nothing Better Than A Frosty C11

Some people might pay a lot to get a paint job to look like that.

(Our snow is really splotchy now. Still a couple of feet in the shade, but I will need to mow the sunny part before long.)

M51 wide field LRGB

Posted By Charles Hakes

Wow. Really wide and really deep and lots of color on the stars.

M51 looks a little "magenta" on this monitor, but it is a good balance to the "yellow" companion. (I guess it would have more Halpha showing through... ?) What is the total width of that shot? Also, I noticed that your RGB was as long total as the L - how long were your subs?

All three of those shots are great. Can't wait for the color on the 81-82 image.

That is great. Looks like every star has some color, and they are all nice and sharp.

NGC 4216 and friends

Nice shot. There is sooo much to see in that part of the sky.

So how do you get a C8 at f4.8? A single focal reducer? I am always looking for ways to get wider shots, but my 6.3 focal reducer messes with the flatness. I still use it though. Your shot looks pretty flat.

M57 shallow sky

This one is certainly on my list to re-do. There are lots of galaxies in the background if you go really deep. It looks like you barely snagged one at the top.

Leo Trio - Version 2

I definitely like the color better on this one. And you can see more "stuff" in the background. On my monitor the sky isn't quite as black though. I guess that is exactly where the processing gets tough - which do you chose?

Very nice. I also like the little grouping in the upper left corner.

Black Eye Galaxy

Posted By Charles Hakes

I like your black eye... And I'm glad you keep the archives there to see how the imaging has progressed. Your "old" one is pretty good too. I might have to put this one in the queue to try sooner rather than later. Thanks for the 230mm fl info and equation for the reducer. It will help me do some testing and verification. I am not moving anything yet, though.
