Freaking awesome posts, Russ. Don't know which one I liked better, but leaning to the first one.

Are You Following The Trump Vs Musk Shitshow!?

Posted By Jim Moscheck

Hi Russ,

I put Richard post and Jim's reply to it into ChatGPT and asked it to reframe the posts using civil dialog. The bolded part shows the consequences of the posting style that Richard, and I admit that I, more often than not, do the same when replying to him. Although, I don't make up lies about people.

✅ Reframed Civil Dialogue
Richard (Rephrased):

James, I find it difficult to understand your support for Kilmar Abrego Garcia, given the serious accusations against him. I’d appreciate it if you could clarify your position. Are you advocating for his rights simply because you believe due process must apply equally, or do you see something in his case that suggests injustice?
Additionally, I’m curious how you reconcile that position with your views on Donald Trump’s legal treatment. You’ve said in the past you support due process, so do you believe Trump was denied that right?

James (Rephrased):

Thanks, Richard. Let me clarify: My position is not a defense of Garcia as a person, but a defense of constitutional principles. Even people accused of serious crimes deserve due process. Deporting someone without following a prior court order undermines the legal process.
Regarding Trump, I’ve also said that I believe his rights were violated in the New York case and I expect his conviction will be overturned on due process grounds. I don’t see a contradiction — the rule of law applies to everyone, even the unpopular or the powerful.
Result:

Instead of emotional escalation, there’s space for genuine clarification.
The disagreement remains, but now it’s framed in terms of values (due process, constitutional fairness), not personal attacks.

💥 Part 2: How This Type of Discourse Affects Online Communities

When posts like the original two dominate a forum, several consequences emerge:

🚩 Negative Effects

Polarization Increases: Others are pressured to “pick sides” rather than discuss issues.

Silencing Effect: Moderate or new voices may avoid contributing out of fear of being attacked.

Toxic Norms: Over time, insults, sarcasm, and hostile assumptions become the default tone.

Loss of Substance: Real arguments and nuance are drowned in moral posturing and name-calling.

✅ Constructive Community Practices
Moderation guidelines: Enforce rules that prohibit personal attacks and require respectful engagement.
Meta-discussion threads: Allow users to reflect on how discussions are going and self-correct.
Highlighting model behavior: Elevate posts that respond with empathy and reason, even in disagreement.

✨ Final Thought

What Richard and James are actually debating — the scope of due process, its application to controversial figures, and its relation to American values — is incredibly important. But the way it’s discussed can determine whether that debate educates, divides, or derails.

-------------------

As if the discussion around here will ever change from the downward spiral to the gutter that it has become.

Obviously he hasn't read this thread or is conveniently ignoring it considering his response to Jim B. in Dave C's thread. Must be a lonely existence. The difference between their responses are that one of them is lying and one is not. We know which is which.

Thanks for fixing that time stamp for me. I can't seem to make that work when I copy a link at a certain time.

It's amazing how much more presidential tRump, Davis, and all of MAGA think he is over all those other "loser" presidents.

Still not sure of the context, tho.

Part One:

Trump promises expanded immigration crackdown after ‘No Kings’ protests

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/jun/16/trump-immigration-protests-ice-budget

"Donald Trump has promised an expanded immigration crackdown in several large Democratic-led cities as apparent vengeance for “No Kings” protests against his administration on Saturday that drew millions of people – despite questions over whether the agency in charge of the effort is set to run out of money."

"In new reporting on Monday, Axios claimed US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) was $1bn over budget and set to run out of money in the next one to three months.

"The outlet noted that Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” directed tens of billions of dollars to Ice over the next five years and suggested Trump would direct other government funds to the agency if the bill failed to pass Congress."

And

"Trump raised the specter of an expanded immigration crackdown in a lengthy Sunday night post to his Truth Social network, alleging without evidence that the cities had become the “core of the Democratic power center” by using “illegal aliens to expand their voter base”.

"Non-citizens are not permitted to vote in US elections – and there is no widespread evidence of them ever having done so."

“ICE Officers are herewith ordered, by notice of this TRUTH, to do all in their power to achieve the very important goal of delivering the single largest Mass Deportation Program in History,” he wrote.

“We must expand efforts to detain and deport Illegal Aliens in America’s largest Cities, such as Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York, where Millions upon Millions of Illegal Aliens reside.”

-----------------------------------------

On Edit: Anyone else creeped out that his social media is called Truth Social? I guess Orwell missed it by four decades or so.

I guess there are no illegal aliens in Dallas, Houston, Fort Worth, Austin, or along Texas' lengthy border with Mexico, huh?

Or how about Florida with Miami, Tampa, Orlando or Jacksonville?

Trump has made it clear that these are politically motivated and is only directed at Democratic run cities. Must be a relief for all those landscape companies, cleaning/servicing swimming pool businesses, and restaurant owners in those two states alone.

I guess there are no illegals in Atlanta either?

Part Two:

The shootings of 2 Minnesota lawmakers and the arrest of Vance Boelter

"The man suspected of killing a Minnesota lawmaker and wounding another faces murder charges after police arrested him Sunday near his home following a nearly two-day search."

"Vance Boelter is accused of posing as a police officer and fatally shooting former Democratic House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, in their home early Saturday in the northern Minneapolis suburbs."

"Authorities say he also shot and wounded Sen. John Hoffman, a Democrat, and his wife, Yvette, at their home in a nearby neighborhood. They also said he visited the homes of two other state legislators but did not encounter them, and officials in other states reported Monday that they were on his list of targets."

---------------------------------------

The article goes on the state he was an evangelical conservative who attended Trump Rallies, but he wasn't under any law enforcement radar.

Part Three:

Israel issues Tehran evacuation order as Iran threatens to leave nuclear weapons treaty

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/jun/16/iran-threatens-to-leave-nuclear-weapons-treaty-as-israeli-bombing-enters-fourth-day

---------------------------------------

The great peacemaker in the WH get his chance again. What will he do this time, one wonders, since he ended the Ukraine war on day one.

---------------------------------------

Part Four:

Trump's Army's 250 birthday parade

https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/trump-parade-turnout-protest-no-kings-millions-1235365602/

"The parade felt less like the imposing show of military might envisioned, and more like a mobilized display for military history aficionados. And turnout reflected it. As previously reported by Rolling Stone, attendance at the parade was light for an event whose staging disrupted large swaths of Washington D.C. Risers intended to be packed with enthusiastic Trump fans remained underfilled throughout the parade. The lawns around the Washington monument, which had been blocked off in anticipation of a huge gathering, remained sparsely populated, even as the attendees coalesced in front of a central stage to hear the post-parade lineup of speakers, including the president"

"After videos of squeaky tanks, half empty grandstands, and soldiers marching out of step went viral on social media, the parade became the subject of widespread mockery. Not out of disregard for the Army and its history, but because the entire event felt like a poorly executed effort to entertain the man who is currently deploying active duty Marines to Los Angeles to support Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids against migrant communities and intimidate those who oppose him."

"In Los Angeles — where anti-ICE protests and clashes with law enforcement have been taking place for more than a week — “No Kings” organizers estimated 200,000 people turned out for the city’s demonstration. The New York Police Department estimated that 50,000 marched in Manhattan. In Boston, a joint gathering of Pride Month revelers and No Kings protesters drew an estimated 1 million attendees over the course of the day. Even in smaller cities like Anchorage, Alaska; Louisville, Kentucky; and Tuscon, Arizona, “No Kings” protests managed to draw thousands into the streets. In line with organizer estimates, an independent number cruncher pegs total “No Kings” turnout at between 4 and 6 million."

---------------------------------------

That's got to burn as crowd size numbers are very important to him.

Definitely a good enough reason for Trump to only go after democrat run cities.

The No Kings rallies were in every state, even the red ones.
