Sculptor galaxy

As good as it gets. Your processing is superb. (Plus it's great to see these southern gems for us northerners.)

A different view of NGC281

I thought I'd give this one one more try aiming for a smoother background and less garish color (somewhere between the previous two). Is it an improvement or should I just stop?
Thanks,
Larry

CCD Image capture and processing software

Astroart for capture and stacking. Also very good for processing. I began processing with that and AIP4Win since AA was far cheaper than Maxim, and AIP came with the book which is great. AIP also has many automated routines that makes for great learning. But I have since gravitated to PixInsight for postprocessing (it's still free but they keep promisting the commercial release soon.)
I know this doesn't answer the question, but I haven't used either one on your list.

Floyd,
Your progress has been amazing. That's an image anyone would be proud to have captured and processed. Looks like you're liking that rig!

PEC Training complete, here are the results

Floyd,
My gosh, I'd be happy with that on my LX90 as a guided image. Some day, some day...
BTW, that's quite a shot for one 4 minute integration.

Wow, that's quite a close-up. Are you planning to play with it at all as you say it's unprocessed? Is that also uncropped?

Another Holmes from Utah

Tyler,
Another nice one--interesting to see the progression. That star field is quite spectacular--far richer than what I managed to catch last Saturday.

The Dancing Dolphin Nebula -- LDN1622

Posted By Larry Durst

Tom,
I like the name as much as the image itself! Both are spectacular. I'm wondering about the Ha--never having shot dark nebula (but you've got me inspired!), is there a reason for the Ha versus a straight L?
Thanks,
Larry
