Well, for starters, you seem to be, from your past posting on the subject, reasonably informed on certain historical attributes of various firearms. Judge Clarence Thomas has imposed what amounts to be an historical requirement on gun control laws and the 2nd amendment. Hence, from the current ruling from the federal judge in the recent OREGON case, magazines CAN be regulated and restricted to a capacity of ten or under based upon the historical reasoning that high capacity magazines didn't exist and if they did, they were considered to accessories to a firearm and not an actual firearm so they can, in fact, be regulated...
I am not bothered by a 10 round or less restriction. Higher capacity magazines make the weapon more awkward to handle......and I can change a 10 round clip out in a couple seconds. So much like the silly ban on silly bump stocks its just another red herring.
That said, the fed judge that upheld it was wrong about them not existing historically and using that as an excuse for his ruling.... the full auto Puckle Machine Gun existed something like around 70 years before America did lol
Then there was the Girardoni rifle that held 20 rounds which also predated the Constitution as well by a few years.....
There are others as well dating back to the mid 1600's that offered up to a 30 round capacity before reloading......
