Attaching C-11 to mount by yourself

Posted By Greg Shaffer

Sonny Schug said:

Any hints or tips on attaching a C-11 scope to a mount without hurting yourself?!
I find it very difficult to hold the scope alone while guiding the dovetail bar into the mount.

The best cure I know of is getting a saddle that opens up rather than one you have to slide it into.....more $$ I know but worth every penny.

So Who Do You Back?

Posted By Greg Shaffer

So do you consider that our relationship has improved with the ME since Obama took office?

Do you think that the ME is less or more stable than when he took office?

Has our relationship improved with ANYONE since he took office?

Obama/Putin on their new deal in Syria or McCain/Graham and "bomb-up" on Assad?

McCain claims Obama has "destabilized" the middle east. Er, ah, it was already destabilized before Obama got there....

Orion Vixen 102FL Fluorite

Posted By Greg Shaffer

After some work I got the stock focuser on mine working quite well but there is something to be said for having a 2 speed.....

I upgraded mine to the dual rate moonlight and have not regretted it one bit......

You would love the Lewis Black HBO special he did in Washington and the story he tells about how there were some words he couldn't use......like they wanted him to say poopee instead of shit. You sure you aren't a politician pretending to be an astronomer? smile

Where to order threaded inserts

Posted By Greg Shaffer

Pretty sure Moonlight (the focuser folks) has 1.25" threaded inserts........Actually positive they do since that's who I got mine from smile

Zoran Stojcevski said:

Hello to everybody,

McMaster does not want to sell to individuals, and I cannot find any other website or supplier which sells them. I need them for 1.25" round Aluminum tubing. Also if anybody have some extra, we can make a deal.

Thanks a lot, Zoran

Have a friend who is retirement age, her and her husband were paying about $250 a month each.....between the two of them their combined cost went up over a little over $250 each....an increase of slightly more than 100%.

I am about to find out what mine will be......

Why are ad deleltions allowed?

Posted By Greg Shaffer

No thanks.....you already can control what you see.....Take a look at the options you have available when listing ads. If everyone deleted their completed transactions one of the best tools we have would be lost.

In my opinion, I wish all customers would delete the ads when finished with the deals. It keeps the site from being so cluttered up. Then when I look, everything that I see will be for sale, It is easier to find something among 25 items that are still for sale, then look through 500 items that have already been sold. I also guess that deleting old, useless ads would speed up the process for the new ones.
