I feel safer in my transactions here on AM because of the restrictions. I've never had a bad experience on this site and the people I have dealt with have all been very trustworthy.

Deerfield Enacts Assault Weapon Ban!

Hi Jim. I agree, I liked the threaded view. I only have one month till my membership is due so I'll give this new version a spin until then and to quote that guy in the WH, "We'll see what happens."

Hi Mel, in a way I’m glad if the history is gone. Astromart now seems to let someone not registered to be able to read the politics forum and our real names and location are there for all to see. I don’t think this was true before the change although I may be wrong. While I don’t want to have trolls posting here hiding behind a made up username I don’t know if I’m comfortable having my name and location out there for anyone to see. My subscription expires in May and I haven’t bought or sold anything in years so I’m contemplating not re-upping.

Speaking of trolls I was really taken aback by the anger in that post the other day. I like to believe there really aren’t people out ther with that much hate. Even though it’s only a sample of one it proves there are. Sad.

In the previous version wasn’t the politics forum hidden unless you had an account?

Hahaha.

Wasn’t Paul Ryan that guy who was all about reducing the debt, that wonderboy who chaired the budget committee, who had a plan to reduce the deficit and reduce government spending by 6 billion, who ran for Vice President with old Mittens? Guess he doesn’t want the minority leader position?

One of my proudest accomplishments on this forum was changing Jim's mind and convincing him that civil gay marriage was constitutionally mandated under the equal protection clause.  This was before Obama, Clinton, the Supreme Court or pretty much any politician other than the activists were supporting gay marriage.  Although I am sure that Jim disapproved of gay marriage, he was a pure libertarian and could not stomach denying valuable governmental benefits to one class of people based upon sexual orientation.

Weird thing with this format. Why was James' post attributed the troll Furry Avocado?

I also miss the threaded view showing all of the new posts since last time you logged in. Seems like the new site remembers the last post you read and takes you to any new posts the next time you are logged in -  similar to Cloudy Nights. The fact that my name and location aren't behind a firewall anymore will likely either keep me from posting or just letting my membership lapse.

Seems Richard either hasn't had anything to say lately or his computer won't let him onto the new site. I know, it's probably the latter, Richard being at a loss for words is ludacris.   smile

ISIS killed tens of thousands of Christians and Muslims alike by decapitating them while still alive UNDER OBAMA.  I don't recall him doing a damn thing to stop it.

Well, then you must agree going into Iraq in the first place was a bad idea and one of the biggest blunders in US history. I'm sure you'll say everything was going great there until Obama got into office and it's his fault that Iran and Syria have been made stronger.  sad
