WHY IS ASTROMART NOT ALLOWING PHOTOS IN MY AD???

Most common reason I can think of is the pictures are too large, there is a limit if I recall correctly......

Nice Article on the Importance of Astronomy

Good article.....terrible subject line on your post LOL

From the article:

"The fruits of scientific and technological development in astronomy, especially in areas such as optics and electronics, have become essential to our day-to-day life, with applications such as personal computers, communication satellites, mobile phones, Global Positioning Systems, solar panels and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanners.

Not to mention the important role that astronomy has played worldwide throughout history by constantly revolutionising our thinking. In the past, astronomy has been used to measure time, mark the seasons, and navigate the vast oceans. As one of the oldest sciences astronomy is part of every culture’s history and roots. It inspires us with beautiful images and promises answers to questions such as, “Where do we come from? It acts as a window onto the immense size and complexity of space, putting Earth into perspective and promoting global citizenship and pride in our home planet."

Worth a read.

Guns & Ammo Editor Driven Out

Posted By Greg Shaffer

He was kicked out for being an idiot.....nothing to do with free speech. Magazines depend on readership, publishing an editorial that disagrees with 98% of your readership isn't exactly good for business. Ease your way back to reality Rod lol

I am back and things have changed...........

Hi Mark

That $15 you paid is for 1 years membership and includes 1 month of supporter access (no delays on ads) along with upto 40 ads for use anytime during the next year, selling or buying as thanks for signing up.

Additional support funds whether for 1,3,6,12 months gets you supporter level access, no delays on viewing new ads, additional ads for your use and also the ability to have new ads instantly emailed to you that lasts for whatever time you picked.

If you choose not to be a supporter after your 1st month then you will still have full access as a member, but with a 4 hr delay on seeing new ads in the listings and you cant have them emailed to you. Many folks don't support unless they are actively searching for something and don't want the delay.

Have a great holiday season!
Greg

Hey folks,
I am trying to return to my first childhood hobby. Astronomy. At one time I was in the top user list here on astromart. I lost my vision for awhile(damm MS) but I still have some. I have been gone for several years, at least inactive.

I just renewed today(purple), I want to see how it goes before I commit to full year member ships. I do have a question. It says I have 40 ads left. I suspect this means that with the current system, I can only place "x" many ads depending on my membership level. Is this correct? Secondly, do "wanted" ads count in that 40?

I am going to be looking for many ATM items. My twin boys and I are about to build several 6" f/5 newts.

Anyway, hello and I hope to be around for awhile.

how do I POST a new auction?

Posted By Greg Shaffer

Click on the Auction tab at the top of the page.....then read the column of options on the left side of the page. It should reach out and slap you when you see it smile

Sorry to bother you, but I am a new user who has inherited a Celestron catadioptric C90 telescope in perfect condition (not a scratch), with case in perfect condition, 5 X 24 mm eyepiece, parts still in plastic. It was stored in an attic two decades AND ALSO a 6 inch reflector, 6 inch Pancro mirror, Brandon 24 mm EYL. The original owner had a leather case with felt lining custom made for it, which a saddle maker just appraised for $1200. Excellent condition. Stored in attic two decades.

I am a registered user of this web site, but do not see where I POST items and their pictures to sell. I also have no idea how to set a reserve (minimum price?). Help appreciated.

Saves the gun store owners from having to clean-up the mess and you get all the information you want...

They need to recognize Darwin's theory and let nature take its course.....The gene pool will benefit.

What good when it comes to protection is a unloaded gun with a trigger lock and stored in a locked safe? Very damn little.

Obamacare: "God's Work"

Posted By Greg Shaffer

4 million my butt...... how many have actually paid and have an active policy? How many of those are medicare?

It is going to fall flat on its face......

Dave Snope said:

About 4 million people have signed up for private health care plans under the Affordable Care Act, Obama said Tuesday night at an Organizing for Action event in Washington, urging his supporters to keep pushing to enroll as many people as possible before the March 31 deadline.

“We’re going to make a big push these last few weeks, Obama told OFA volunteers and officials. “I can talk, my team can talk here in Washington, but it’s not going to make as much of a difference as if you are out there making the case. The work you’re doing is God’s work. It is hard work.

Why are my ads getting taken down? and by whom?

Posted By Greg Shaffer

I can see the recent ad posted 3/3 that Herb quoted in his response and also see two other ads you posted on 2/21 and 2/19

The system has a default setting on your account page for how old the ads you are shown are.....I suspect yours is set to something that is keeping you from seeing those ads as they age.

Look at the option bar on the top of the page when viewing classifieds. There is a drop down for "ads from the last ?" change that to 90 days, hit the "go" button and I suspect you will see your ads. Note it does not save this info, only good for that session. There is however an option to set it for whatever you would like on your "my account" page and that will change the default. I have mine set to 90 days.....

It would behoove you to play around on the site and try everything you see.....jus sayin smile

I am a very long-time and loyal Astromarter with a perfect rating. I supported AMart before it was required though I really didn't post too many ads. Now I am trying to sell some items to raise money due to job loss. My ads in the books/pubs. section seem to be removed quite soon after they are put up. I can't imagine why. I am not like a pseudo-dealer selling so many thousands of dollars of items using a regular account, for example. I am just selling a few things here and there.
