Winning in the Rose Bowl was not that big of a deal and just a vacation in SOCAL for the team for waxing Ohio State, at least to a true Michigan fan.
More importantly, did you watch Purdue BB knock off West Virginia, #6 Gonzaga, and #8 Duke by 16, 18, and 19 points, on a neutral court, over a four day span?  The last team to knock off two top 10 teams by double digits in consecutive neutral court games was UCLA in '68.  Abdul-Jabbar was playing center.  smile

Goooooo Boilers!

Therefore I'll submit that I'm Not redefining a thing.  Free speech is free speech, which is to say "uncensored" speech, period.

I would submit that Free speech is speech that is permitted to exist in a free society

I'll challenge you to define what Free Speech amounts to in the USA.

Provide your definition.  My guess is that you'll fail miserably, as you always do.  smile
Precisely!  And what do we call the structure that we humans have created to regulate and organize our society...the Government!  And what documents establish our government.... (wait for it)... The Constitution and Amendments to the Constitution.

James owns you on this one.

Most private organizations are much more limiting of speech than the government.  That is OK, but free speech is not really a thing in private organizations.  If it were, and if you had a job, I would encourage you to tell your boss what you really thought of her or him.  I wonder how that would turn out for you?  Jim

Hogwash!  I submit three kinds of posts here:

1.  Snarky replies mocking you.

2.  Insightful commentary on political topics, I put a lot of thought into these.  Some of them are very helpful to me as they permit me to organize my thoughts on difficult topics.  I have had a couple of fairly deep posts in the past month or so.  Almost always, but not exclusively, I post a genuinely thoughtful post in response to something genuinely insightful posted by someone other than you.

3.  Fun banter or friendly chat posts, i.e sports banter, astronomy chat, and the like.

I'm sure the number of posts in category 1 has exceeded the number of posts in category 2 recently, but that is only because you need to be mocked so often.  Regrettably, there is only so much time in the day and no one can mock you as often as you deserve.  Jim

OK, and if you say that you are free to always speak your entire mind to your clients, I will reply:  A.  You don't have many clients, or B.  You are lying.

James owns you.

Also, I see that you ignored this part of my post, the part that is actually on topic:

"Precisely!  And what do we call the structure that we humans have created to regulate and organize our society...the Government!  And what documents establish our government.... (wait for it)... The Constitution and Amendments to the Constitution.

Here's a question for you.  Was the Hunter Biden laptop actually his laptop or was it Russian Disinformation?

Twitter censored the story from the NY Post which turned out to be accurate.

So then, do you want to answer that simple question above, or do you want to weasel out of it?  smile
I am confident the Hunter Biden laptop is actually his laptop.

p.s.  The initial "story" of this being a Russian plant is not a free speech issue.  It is a good example of crappy and biased "journalism" and a great example of why only fools get their news from social media.  What is your point?  If you have one....

Man, Musk really is good.  I'm sure the hornet's nest out there will be stirred.  smile
Musk had nothing to do with the Fortnight controversy, other than retweeting a nifty parody of Apple's classic advertisement take down of IBM.  If memory serves, Apple's ad was the first of the great Super Bowl ads, and maybe the greatest of them all.

If you are interested in Epic Games v. Apple, you could start here:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epic_Games_v._Apple#:~:text=In%20this%20light%2C%20Judge%20Rogers,other%20payment%20systems%20within%20apps.

The issue, if I remember correctly, had to do with in-game charges or something like that.  Commercial issues, not free speech issues.

Here is the original 1984 ad - indisputably one of the best ads ever produced.  Jobs' team skewered IBM without even mentioning IBM.  Where is IBM now?

Directed by Ridley Scott fresh off of Blade Runner - This ad changed the nature of Super Bowl ads forever, although the recent batches have been too bland for my taste.

P.S.  You might want to inform all of your Leftist Democrat buddies here that they were lied to about the laptop and that they might want to realize just how duped they have been, when they have subscribed to the lies of the Leftist media.

Unfortunately for them, they are still in denial and believe fantasies about D. Trump being Yuri, the Russian spy.  smile
Oh, I see that the weaseling is complete.  I thought your point was about free speech.

Since you have changed the topic, I'll add that I am not 100% sure about the opinions my friends on this forum, but I strongly suspect that they believe that Hunter's laptop is in fact his laptop.  They also (probably) think the initial press cover-up is shameful journalism.  They also do not think that Trump is a Russian spy.  They almost certainly think he is a narcissist and self-dealing fool lacking any qualities or aptitude for the Presidency, and I am probably understating it.  Rod thinks that the tenuous ties between one or two of Trump's people and Russia justified the collusion narrative, but he might be the only one.  Not sure on that point.
