GOP Senators On Upcoming TrialPosted By Rod Kaufman |
What a moronic response from our internet troll. The students simply walk thru the points of entry with a metal detector in place:Originally Posted by Richard Davis

I guess your solution then is to have all students, thousands of them in school every single day to go through metal detectors the instant they step through the doors.
Great, then are you FOR extending the school day by the 2 hours it takes to open a backpack and check for knives and guns, each and every time they come to school.
My solution would be to have armed, trained guards at schools wandering the halls, ex-police perhaps.
Your way is to go through ALL backpacks. Good, now we see the stupid response vs. the more logical response, and the more sensible response IMO.
Can we take the extra money out of your pay each day to fund the extra 2 hours per day, MINIMUM that it would take to search all backpacks?
When I went to high school, there were something on the order of 2500 students in my school.
SO then IF even 10% of the students carry a back pack full of books, which I think is REALLY a conservative estimate, then you would agree that Every single day, 250 backpacks have to be inspected. If they are fast they'll do it in 20 seconds per backpack.
My guess is that it will take about 30 seconds per backpack.
Can you do simple math? If so then you'll understand that 30 seconds X 250 is about 125 minutes.
That's about 2 hours 5 minutes EVERY single morning to check backpacks. Good luck with students putting up with that.
OR you could have cops with GUNS stationed around areas of the school whose SOLE job it is to watch for weapons and attacks.
What is the drawback then?
For you, it is the SCARY ness of the cop with a gun in the school. OOH, how scary.
So instead, let's take the illogical course and check all backpacks every day.
I take it back I thought you were an idiot, but now I see that you are a genius! Thanks.
