Can't vote for him if he is not the nominee.  Rod, you'll need to sharpen up your "this guy (or gal) is just as bad as Trump...." sword.

I don't DeSantis wants it yet.

My guess is that someone else will get the nomination, and Trump will be in the background.

There are a great number of people who I prefer.

I wish it was DeSantis but I really, really don't believe he will run.

Do you think he will?
At this stage, I genuinely, honestly, have no idea.  Jim

Here's my answer Jim.

I have viewed the site run by Brent Bozell.  It is named the Media Research Center for a reason.

They keep an eye on and tabulate interesting information such as the amount of minutes spent by the "mainstream" news outlets such as ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, etc... on various political stories and news items.

Sometimes they speak to news stories that would be of interest to the general public and report whether they even cover the stories or whether they bury them.

Certainly they have some sort of bias, however You have pegged with the moniker "far right" in the extreme to  describe them.

Tell me something, have you followed the MRC for some time, and are you knowledgeable enough about them to make a reasoned decision?

From what you stated above you seem to be very familiar with their reporting.

You must know a great deal about them and their mission.

Since you purport to be very familiar with them, can you point to several of their stories and reporting recently that indicate how far right they are and can you demonstrate the propaganda they are peddling?

Here's a very factual news story from Newsbusters.org:  https://newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/nicholas-fondacaro/2022/12/05/nbc-marks-1-year-waukesha-attack-omits-racist-motive

It speaks to the fact that the "Mainstream" media purposefully failed to mention how the murderer of 6 in the story, who was by the way convicted of murder recently, was a black racist against whites.

Would you like to tackle that story and indicate how MRC telling the world how the media covered up that fact about the guy is "propaganda"?
Thanks for the straight answer.  Unfortunately, today is murder on the work front.    EOY management meetings.  So I can not discuss in detail, or debate too much.

As a starter though, you are absolutely right that I made a snap judgement about MRC based upon one day's viewing.  I'll admit that.

I think this is an important point: just because MRC is an extreme right wing propaganda site in my opinion does not mean that they never report accurately.  I'll qualify my assessment by saying, "overall they are an extreme right wing..."  In my opinion of course.  So I am not surprised that if you look around, you can find some reporting on MRC that I might agree with.   I do not agree with their push poll results.  The push poll indicating that if Hunter's laptop had not been suppressed on social media and in some real media (which was horrible reporting by those outlets) then a significant number of Biden voters would have voted for Trump, a third party, or not at all.  So far, I have not actually seen detailed poll results on their web page.  The nature of the question matters immensely in a poll, and I do not trust MRC on this one.

You all have a great day.  Sorry, but I am out of touch for a while...  Jim

I've never watched Alex Jones, but I understand that he is a truly detestable human being.  Attacking the shooting survivors is criminal, and the jury has made him pay for it.  Good riddance.

This is an interesting topic, because I think that most of us would agree that it is OK to limit Alex Jones's free speech.  Even us normal free speech advocates.  He is absolutely "yelling fire in a crowded theater"  and good people suffered for it.

Frankly, I doubt you care, but I do not respect those who misquote and misconstrue my opinions or other's opinions.  You should be ashamed of yourself, it is telling that you are not.

If that's not the case, then you can take this opportunity to set the record straight or tell me that I got it all wrong and I was mistaken about it...
I don't have the obligation to set the record straight.  You have the obligation to not misstate other people's positions!!  Ask James Lacey if you don't believe me.

(Yes, I was shouting)

Even so, and even though I am tired and crabby today, I'll let you know that you have mixed it up badly.  I have indeed in the past mused about whether the press and left want to portray Trump (in general) as the buffoon or the mastermind.   It varies by story.   Sometimes it varies within the story.  This parallel but internally inconsistent characterization of Trump is commonplace in the press.  I think I last discussed the phenomenon here with reference to Jan. 6.  Not entirely sure.

With respect to Manafort, please review these threads.

We disagree of course, but I never said, what you said I did.  Given the magnitude of the Russian Collusion "hoax" including the massive investigation, impeachment for obstruction, but no supported charges of collusion with the Russians, I think the Manafort story is a nit.  I still do.

So, I'm not so sure I got that wrong. Anyhow, I see now that evidently not everything we state can be felt or understood along similar lines so we agree on some points here but not on others. I was being grumpy too so we certainly share that feeling. Hopefully, we'll all do better from now on...
Thanks.  I think, the point I want to make in the light of morning is that Trump may be a buffoon, he may be a mastermind.  Even though I lean toward the buffoon angle, I have never used that as an excuse for any of his real malfeasance.  That is what riled me yesterday, I read your post as suggesting that I would give him a pass on tax fraud, just because he is stupid or unaware.  That is not true.  I hope they pin anything and everything on him that is just and proper under the criminal and tax codes.
