Best shorty Barlow???

Posted By David Landreth

The celestron ultima is the best, ive used the meade & orion, but not teleview. it is a really nice constructed barlow with excellent correction, & the price is very reasonable.

what telescope should I buy???????

Posted By David Landreth

the LX90 is a really nice scope! Great tracking & really good goto! & it wont break the bank! The optics are nice, but probably not as good as a dob like discovery or maybee orion. I guess it depends on how much you like electronics like goto, or optics better! Dont get me wrong the optics on a meade lx90 are really pretty good, no slouch there!
I hope this helps
thanks David

Where to get a decent right-angle finder?

I think you would really like a telrad or a red or green dot finder. they are both -0- multilying finders & really easy to use.
hope this helps.

hello chas, big binoculars has a first class operation. kevin in my book is as friendly, honest & informative as any astronomy dealer i have purchased from, & i have purchased many, many astronomy tems thru the years! i recently purchased a oberwerk 45 degree 100mm binocular telescope from him & it had a defective prism cover where the eyepiece screws into, i destroyed the eyepiece trying to get the 40x eyepiece out that i tightened up by hand, i also scratched up the prism cover in the process. i contacted him & he was willing to send me free of charge a new eyepiece & prism cover or i could send it back & he would remedy the problem a his cost even though my impatience caused damage to the eyepiece & to the prism cover. they at big binoculars have my buisness for now on!! he will guaranteed treat you right!

Oberwerk 100mm Binocular Telecope

Posted By David Landreth

Great looking binos! I have a pair without the finder & really love them. The 62x eyepieces are a little in my opinion to high of power, they work pretty good on really great seeing nights. Im going to in time buy 2- 16mm naglers to reach 39x, I think they would work really nice with the binos. The 25x eyepiece are really nice! not to say the 62x,s arent just a little to much power. I think you will be really satisfied with the 100mm bt from oberwerk. The mount unistar mount that you bought is a great addition to the setup, the only problem that i had & it is very very minor is you will occasionally need to tighten up the altitude adjustment so the binos wont move on you, other than that a very nice & wont break the bank set up. I tried some 32mm tv & some 15mm tv plossls in them & didnt really like the view that much, so i sold them, i guess they work better with swa or uwa eyepieces.
Mine came with perfect colimination, (Thank you lord!!) I have never tried to coliminate binoculars before. ;.)
