Angenieux is a brand of high end lenses for cameras. The 10x18 mark should mean that it is capable of zooming from a 10mm lens to a 180mm lens. The zoom mechanism should be linked to the gearing for a motorized function. Just speculating, the lens may be locked to focus at infinity. Hope that helps.

I'm keeping mine, even though a C-14 is in the immediate future. I've looked through eleven different C-9.25s, and the only one with a poor view needed to be collimated.

Thanks Vince, Nice report! Have you set up in the Palen McCoy Valley North of the Arlington mine? Super dark, and you'll be in a great ironwood forest. The next time you go into Northern Arizona/S. Utah, try 50 Mile Road in the Escalante, or the roads out to Tuweep. OR, set up anywhere on US93, North of Vegas, and South of Missoula. On US93,at Ash Springs, there's a teenie RV park (flat spot) with full hookups, for $13.00/night. Can you say, "Sleep all day with the A/C running?"

You might want to try to reach any of the TAC-South folks who might be going to Little Blair Valley. That's a site on the desert side of the Coastal Mountains, near San Diego. Several years ago, I was there for the Messier weekend, and both the Centaurus GC and the Centaurus radio galaxy were naked eye objects. IIRC, that's NGC 5139 and 5128. However, when the desert heats up, the TAC-South folks head for Palomar Mountain, and I can't specak for the NGC 5139 visibility from that site.

NGC 5139 is visible from my front deck at 0430PST, this month, if the sky is clear, and everyone in Santa Monica turns off their porch light.

You have my heartfelt sympathy Tom.

My own mother's journey far from comforting. I asked for the appropriate State agency to investigate my claim of improper diagnosis and treatment. When their investigation was complete, I was advised that they would not release the results to me unless I would agree that the results would also be given to all the parties mentioned in my claim. It was clear that the high cards were all going to someone else, so I folded.

What the movie and the book did not discuss, was the imminent threat by the Norwegians to use WMDs and their participation in the terrorist bombing of a prominent civilian target in Berlin.

Too bad, as I'm sure that it would have provided the German apologists an opportunity to present their case as to how their actions were justified.

From where I sit, it's actually very sad.

The fact that the reasons that were presented for us to invade Iraq, have all turned out to be bogus,hasn't been explained away, other than a Medal of Freedom for the CIA Chief.

I think that almost all of us here agree that we have to stay in Iraq long enough for the Iraqis to form a stable government of their choice. I believe that Colin Powell told George, that: "If you break it, you have to fix it". Only a complete fool would believe that we can walk away from Iraq today, without condemning the population of Iraq to a struggle between religious fundamentalism, and democracy

The Iraqi's had a stable government. Sure it was the pits. So is North Korea's. The actions by Mr. Bush destabilised a country which, to paraphrase Mr Bush, was "harboring an Al Queda terrorist". Yep, ONE of them.

And sure enough, when the Mr. Bush invaded Iraq, taking the focus off OBL, Mullah Omar, and that other guy, all the young, ideologically motivated, or disenchanted or disillusioned fundamentalist Muslims, flocked to Iraq to kill the infidels.

Screw an exit strategy, if we can't figure out how to convince these ideologically motivated people that we are not evil personified, then we don't need an exit strategy, we need to kill every Muslim who believes that the citizens of the United States are infidels, who need to be killed.

Can anyone else see what's wrong with this picture? I don't think that we're in a quagmire like Vietnam, instead, we're in a morass, on the wrong side of the river Styx.

When Bill Clinton, who was functioning as the President of the United States, was getting hummers in the Oval Office, he should have had the backbone to say "That's none of your business", and take the heat from that position. Instead, he demeaned the people that he was sworn to represent, by his song and dance baloney.

Now, George is doing the same thing. If he wants my support, he needs to cut the carp (not a typo, and not a fish). Even if he doesn't have the guts to admit the other two reasons that the United States invaded Iraq, he needs to admit that the public premise was just BS.

Short of that, he's just another hack.

Just my opinion, fire away.

I suspect that everyone is waiting for the next shoe.
