Re: Significance of VP choice

Posted By Jim E. Gleason

well...imho, anyone BO picks is going to make him look weak...because, looking at the resumes, most are more qualified to be Pres. than he is!

Did you see the little twerp speaking to the VFW convention?

http://apnews.myway.com/article/20080820/D92LN0D00.html

The weakling said "John McCain doesn't know what he's up against." I am not sure if he was referring to Wright, his grandmother, his wife, the left's dirty trick squad or the black panthers. In any event he certainly came across as less than Presidential. The fact that he had to say "Let me be clear: I will let no one question my love of this country" says volumes about him. People have questions about this guys patriotism and feelings for the country because of his past. You do not hear such statements about McCain because he has a clear record. There are many Dems who this would not even be an issue, but the Dem party chose the least qualified and most extreme person that they could find, and hence IMO obvious questions are raised that he feels like he must constantly answer.

This guy is such great humor. The more he speaks the more I laugh.

Good post, Jim...I will only add one thing...BO, along with Nancy Pelosi and Co., bought the Dem. Nom...by giving the SD`s all that $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for their votes!

And yet we have guys like Tom R. here who claim that BO won by following the rules and outsmarting Hillary!...BULL!!!

Tom, show me where it says in the Dem. Rules book that if no candidate has the required no. of pledged delegates, then the candidate who pays the SD`s off the most, regardless of how the voting went, gets the Dem. Nom.

You can`t...and the fact then still remains that BO cheated...and is a Fraud!!!

Hillary Gets Stiffed!

Posted By Jim E. Gleason

An excerpt:

Hillary Rodham Clinton "was never vetted,” a Democratic official reported.

There’s one Democrat who would seem to have little or no chance of being picked by Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) to be his running mate – his former opponent, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.).

But it’s not for the reason you think.

Obama has often said, most recently on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on July 27, that Clinton “would be on anybody’s short list.”

But apparently not his.

“She was never vetted,” a Democratic official reported. “She was not asked for a single piece of paper. She and Senator Obama have never had a single conversation about it. How would he know if she’d take it?”

For the rest,

Well, I`m happy...PB is probably happy...but, possibly most of all, the Repubs are the happiest!

That said, it would seem BO`s about as good at picking his VP as he is his Pastor!

Re: Obama and power

1st, my apologies to the entire forum for all the venom spewed over the last few days by different forum members...including a couple trolls!

I didn`t read any responses to my latest post or any other new posts here except 2...in fact, I just got here...I read the civil, adult posts by Jake J. and John S...

Time for someone to take the initiative along with those 2 and be an adult here...someone has to...it might as well be me...as I remind you that we are astronomers 1st here!...

With that in mind, time to stop playing and get back on topic!

This is not the, "Jim Gleeson, (Gleason}," Logic Forum...It`s the Politics Forum!

In this thread, if you have something more to say about Obama and power, post it!

However, continue with a few more posts trolling, etc., and Herb just might be the next one talking to you!!

Re: Entertainment at the Dem Convention

Posted By Jim E. Gleason

Well...imho, Jim B isn`t entirely off here!...they and the Clinton people, etc., can`t seem to agree on things...other things are starting to happen too and none bode well for Obama!...

1st, we have another Obama mentor alledgedly acting stupid,

Excerpt:

DENVER -- A black Hillary Clinton delegate on Sunday accused state Senate President Emil Jones of calling her an "Uncle Tom."

Jones -- Barack Obama's political mentor -- denied using the racially loaded slur against Chicago political consultant Delmarie Cobb, but two aldermen who said they witnessed the Saturday night exchange back up Cobb's account.

"Last night, I was called an 'Uncle Tom' by Emil Jones in the lobby of the hotel, right in front of [Ald.] Freddrenna Lyle and [Ald.] Leslie Hairston and [Ald.] Latasha Thomas," said Cobb, a member of Clinton's Illinois Steering Committee. "I walked over to him and asked him, 'What did you just call me?' "

2nd, we have this,

An Excerpt:

The DNC, Dr. Dean, Speaker Pelosi, et al. are learning, the hard way, that faux unity is no unity; that when you try to create your own reality, real reality tends to get in the way.

So now here we are in Denver and Dr. Dean's and Speaker Pelosi's preferred candidate is dead even with John McCain in the polls; it is quite clear that delegates to the convention - especially those who have organized a nominating petition to be filed if the DNC reneges on its previous commitment to put Senator Clinton's name in nomination - understand their rights and responsibilities and want to have the opportunity to elect Senator Clinton as the Party's nominee; the DNC seems to be in a panic over its decision to enter Senator Clinton's name in nomination; the DNC and DNCC still will not confirm that they will hold a straightforward, transparent, regular roll call vote as specified in the Call for The 2008 Democratic National Convention, the Party's own official convention governance document.

Forget about making it seem like the Party is unified. At the moment, Dr. Dean and Speaker Pelosis cannot even make it seem like the Party - or at least its top officials - are honest.

3rd, Gov. Ted Strickland has joined Gov. Ed Rendall in blasting the way the media never properly vetted Obama!...and the media coverage BO got...note that both are from 2 extremely important Swing states,

An Excerpt:

Ohio Gov. Bashes Press for pro-Obama Bias

Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland is the latest supporter of Hillary Clinton to accuse the media of bias in its coverage of the Democratic nomination battle.

At a dinner with Washington Post reporters and editors, Strickland called the coverage "almost shocking at times" and unfair it the treatment of both candidate Clinton and her husband, the former president.

"Quite frankly, some of the people that I had most previously admired as commentators I have a remarkably different opinion toward right now," Strickland said.

Strickland was the second big-state governor and Clinton supporter to sound off about the press at the convention. On Sunday, at a panel hosted by Harvard's Shorenstein Center, Pennsylvania Gov. Edward Rendell called coverage of Barack Obama's campaign "embarrassing"

"He is running for the most important office in the world," Rendell said. "He basically got a free pass." Rendell also described MSNBC derisively as "the official network of the Obama campaign."

Jackie Mason`s Take on Obama!

Bill Clinton's first executive decision was his choice for Vice-President, Al Gore.

Fast forward to Barack Obama's decision to choose Biden for VP, and suddenly the following video seems worth watching, imho:

What if God was One of Us?

Posted By Jim E. Gleason

That's the question posed when looking at Obama's so called Temple at INVESCO Field. If you juxtapose the image to St. Peter's Square at the Vatican, Obama's Temple appears to be a miniature sized version of it minus the Vatican Obelisk and St. Peter's Basilica.

Obama probably wanted the obelisk and basilica also but the DNC was probably over budget.
