Since it was almost 60 today I had to get outside. The ducks and geese seemed just as enthused as I was about the
warm weather. Taken with a Nikon CP5700 and a 1.5X teleconverter from about 15ft.

Don,

Thought I would give it try. I used a combination of Gaussian and radial blur layers in Photoshop and subtracted them from the original. Then flattened the layers and adjusted the levels. I then lassoed the central star and desaturated the red and magentas channels, but I still don’t think it looks right. That’s the highlights of what I did. I am sure someone else can do a better job, but trial and error is how we learn. Thanks for the opportunity.

I think the QuickCam Pro 3000 and 4000 share the same CCD. Here's a shot I got with the 3000.

Hi Jeff,

I'm knew to the forum, and have really enjoyed all the wonderful images. I too learned that my laptop was considerably brighter than my CRT shortly afer my first few astro images. I hope you don't mind, but I did a levels adjustment of the histogram. I equalized each of the rgb channels to bring out more detail without (hopefully)sacrificing image contrast. It really is a great picture. Thanks for sharing it.

Hello Tyler,

I have really enjoyed the pictures you have posted. I've noticed that some have a pinkish hue, which I believe is caused by chromatic aberration. Any photo editing software that allows adjustment the hue/saturation of an image can easily fix this. Just select the magenta channel and desaturate that channel. I hope this is useful to you. Keep up the excellent work and keep'm comin.

Nice shot Walter. The scanner did a great job of getting the details from the picture. I played with it and this is what I came up with in Photoshop 7.
