Moon mosaic Sep 19

Last week I did a moon mosaic just before dawn at good conditions with the C11 at f/10. An additional 10D image closed some gaps between the mosaic frames.
The mosaic shows that the big effort in putting together and smoothing out the small frames pays back in much more resolution.
Each frame consists of 100 Registax processed images, total 4500 raws.

The digicam color information has been used for the webcam mosaic to give a smoother appearence.

Mosaic of Veil complex

In the mean time I could work out my mosaic on the Veil, shot on the ITT star party in Austria last weekend with the 4" TMB and my mobile setup.

It consists of 4 parts, not easy to bring together due to the distortion.
The UHC filter again helped to bring out the faint nebulosities.

M45 with canon 10D

Yesterday I did a series of 15 x 5 min images on M45 at good sky conditions.
My setup was the Canon 10D with the 4" TMB refractor at f/5.

The double size I will put on my web page later on.

High res Saturn

The air allowed a detailed view on Saturn last evening.
Some hours later Jupiter glimpsed above my trees, but the good seeing already was gone.

The seeing was quite good, but only short time before thin clouds rolled in again.

North American and Pelican Nebula

A first summer object during one of the rare clear nights here in Austria.

The nebulas barely fit to the large chip of the STL11000 with the 4" f/6.5 TMB refractor.
One hour of H-alpha could be collected, then clouds stopped the session.

C/2001 Q4 Neat from Austria

A long awaited clear evening after weeks allowed a first shot of Neat.
The STL did a good job again.
The result still was pleasing after the disappointing view through the eyepiece.

Except the coma no tail at all could be seen visually.

IC 1318 in H-alpha

Hello colleages again!

This last night was wonderful clear and after other targets ( not yet processed) I took a long awaited favorite target of myself - the Gamma Cygni area.

Only 100 min of Halpha could be taken before dawn, but as expected a nice bunch of fine details. I think, I have to do a mosaic of that area sometimes!
