You are referring to my favorite telescope! It's a pleasure to hear such accolades for it's legendary optics coming from you!

Alas, I don't have the answers you seek. However, there is a history of the company that one of the Dynascope Yahoo group members put together (was it Rik Hill??) It might be on that web site.

Also there are some astute members of that group who may shed more light smile on the subject!

Just got the new Orion Catalog-Wow! There is a plethora of new stuff in it!
First-all of their dobs have upgraded focusers, erect image finderscope. A laser collimator included in the deal. NO Price change. Hello Meade and Celestron! Are you listening??

Second, all intelliscopes come with the object locator holster. No Extra Charge.

Third, New products: Celestron VistaPix 14X 70mm spotting scope with camera –ok maybe a gimmick item….

Teletrack Altazmuth mount!

A 4.5” Astrograph telescope!

Not to mention the recently introducted 120mm Apo refractor.

Maybe some are too jaded to be impressed. But it made me feel like it’s a great moment to be alive and have an astronomy hobby!

Even though I'm a newt kinda guy, if I HAD to use just one scope, and I wouldn't get into astrophotography and it'd be under $3000, it would be a SCT like a 9.25 or a used C-11.

I admit the SCTs are versatile, compact, easily transportable. Don't have one, but that's what I'd be tempted to do. Maybe.

Astronomy & Mt. Biking????

Everyone,

I've know a couple who enjoy Mt. Biking, as do we. We have taken some rather extreme trails out west together. But they have become curious about me and my wife's obsession with astronomy. So much so they are considering coming with us, IF we can find their favorite daytime activity to really wear them down (imagine staying up late, then try Mt. Biking in the NewMexico Mts)!

So I ask the group here if they know of astronomy inns with daytime activities like the above! I found CASITAS DE GILA GUESTHOUSES on the web in New Mexico,and it sounds interesting, but anyone know of others?
