most disliked scope?

Just wanted to know what was you most disliked scope, you can pick any reason, to big, bad optics or whatever else.

Mine was a Meade 7" ED with LXD-750 mount, the OTA went back to Meade 3 times for collimation problems, and the scope was never fixed! Plus the focuser had image shift, and the mount had computer bugs.

Your first scope ever?

What was your first scope that you ever owned?

Mine was a 40x40mm refractor, with 10" tripod legs!

I would sit it on top of a 5ft ladder to look thru it, i was 13 at the time, in 1976.

Ok here we go, if you could only have three eyep's to use for life what would you pick?

If i could only have 3, it would be a 22mm Nag, 10mm & 3mm Radian.

Your skies how dark?

Just wanted to know how dark your skies are on the best nites, and where you live?

I live in Tampa FL less than a mile from the airport, and about 1800 yards from Tampa bay. On my best nites i can see to about Mag 4.3, most nites Mag 3, then on the hazy nites about Mag 2.3! But on the hot and hazy nites i can pump up the powers to well over 800x.

9+ seeing tonite

Took the old Brandon 94mm out for a spin tonite, skies are about mag 4, but seeing is a 9+! Nothing like looking at star images at 400x with dead still seeing. The 94mm with a AP lens really is a fine optic! Even at 300x Saturn is sharp enough to cut paper. And color correction is very good, just about as good as my Tak FS-78. And the 94mm is just as sharp as the FS-78!

I have mag 4 skies at max, but i do have super seeing!
There are times i would rather have the dark skies.

Got me a 11" ELT F/5.4

Looks i got me a 11" ELT F/5.4 Starmaster! I've been looking for a f/5.4 for a long time. This will make a great grab and go Dob, for the back yard, and should be excellent for the planets! Guess i will have in a week or so.

My 11" EL arrived today in good shape, have it put together and collimated. I will give it a workout on the planets tonite! The mirror and diagonal will need a good bath, other than it's like new.
One nice thing about it being F/5.4 i dont need a Paracorr, and collimation is a snap!
