Astromart Etiquette

You should get a low cost digital camera (they are very cheap now-adays and you can probably get a good deal on one from Herb) and post a photo of the exact equipment that you are selling. That way, there is no chance of misleading a potential buyer.

P.S.

I most likely do not know what I am doing with RegiStax. Maybe this is the problem.

My best Mars so far...

Posted By Jim Wayda

Chris,

I also have an AP 130 and a C9.25. Which scope gives yu better Mars images? Have you done a comparison? I have found that it is really worth the time to properly collimate the C9.25 and the Bob's Knobs makes the collimation really easy. I have not had a chance to compare the C 9.25 to the AP 130 on Mars. I will probable get around to doing the comparison this weekend.

Wes,

This is an excellent image. Where are you located? What tracking platform are you using with the Starmaster?

That is a very good first image. I would suggest the following:

1. Allow the scope adequate time to cool down. Approximately 1.5 hours.

2. Ensure that the scope if properly collimated. If you do not have some Bob's Knobs, then get some. They are the best $12 investment that you can make for your SCT.

3. Carefully adjust the focus of the scope while viewing the image on a laptop screen.

What to choose?

Robert,

Before I obtained by Traveler, I used a TV85. The Traveler is a significant step-up in planetary performance over the TV85. I would definitely recommend the Traveler.

Liberal Christian Churches

Posted By Jim Wayda

There is no name calling here. If you check the definition of "Heathen" and "Atheist" you will find that most folks here fall into one of those catagories. These words are not meant in a derogatory context. The word "Heathen" is used frequently throughout the Bible.

Matthew 7:6 "Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces."

Our pearls of the gospel may only confuse unbelievers (who are blinded to the truth by the god of this age. This is not a prohibition against sharing the gospel, but a call to discernment, and an invitation to look for prepared hearts.

I believe this really sums-up what is going on here in this forum.

Best Regards,

-jim

Have any of the Atheists or Heathens that frequent this group tried some of the more liberal Christian Churches such as the United Church of Christ? I understand the many Methodist Churches are also very liberal. It is not fair to pass judgement on Christianity after attending several churches. The problem with organized religion as a whole is that men bring their bigotry and self-centered motives that are not of God. This behavior turns many folks away from Christianity and other organized religions.

Jim,

EXACTLY what you are doing by generalizing your comments, calling names, and not letting the audience know the foundation of these insults to their intelligence. First class example of how to turn your audience form the product you are trying to sell.

Challenge my comments, just read your inputs and think of how us dumb ignorant heartless Heathens value their undocumented basis.

Give us a understanding of where you are coming from in the christian family of religions and/or beliefs.

Best whatever you believe in,
bill

Religion without a God

Posted By Jim Wayda

It does not make anys sense to me either. Why do we need to have a religion without a God when we have Christianity. God, and the Lord Jesus Christ. If they will open their eyes and take off the blinders, they will see.

Hi Sandy,

Yes, I am a Southpark fan and did not catch any of the Christmas specials. I will try to rent them at the video store. Maybe in the future, I will change my avatar to Mr. Hanky. :-)
