If memory serves me - 1970 through the early 80's. Then the casting filled in the holes on the "powerstar IV" and the Super C-8+. This was kept through the early 90's as the "Clasic C-8". They went to the "ribbed" forks on the "Ultima C-8/11" and evntually to the enclosed square forks on the C-8+ and the "reverse" castings on the Ultimas. And now the tear drop forks on the Nexstar's. I believe (and I'm sure I'll be corrected) the C-14 forks were always the same since the early 70's till a few years ago when the fork mount was stoped.

Meade Telecompressor vs Focal Reducer

Well historically they were the same thing - usually a one or two element design - although the versions out today by Meade and Celestron are Focal Reducers and feld flattners - which means they have a single (I believe they are a three element design) lens flattner added.

I've owned the smaller version. As far as I know the LGG is the same as any off axis guider and works fine with CCD's.

Tuthill Polar Alignment Scope

Had one 20 years ago I never used... If I remember correctly it bolts to the bottom center of the drive housing and the optic's are parallel to the forks. Since it's at the center between the forks, the arc/pivit you discribe would have no effect on polar alignment...

MOUNT HELP for Apogee 152mm / Meade AR6

I currently have mine side by side on a CI-700 with a C-9.25. This is about MAX for the mount - a tad lighter then the C-14 origionally on this mount. The CI-700 will hold more then the Losmandy GM-8 mount - about what the G-11 will hold. They track very nice. They are fairly short money and a good buy IMO.

BTW, throw away that dew shield and get the AstroZap one - outstanding! I also added Alum. Focus Knobs, and the Mercury visual back.

35mm EP for C8-S, pinpoint sharp across FOV

The best flat field I've ever owned is one of the old Meade "Super Wide" 32m 2" Eyepieces - from the early 80's (Japan - Towa I believe). About as coma free at around F7 and above as I've ever found. About 65-67 deg AFOV. Not as Space Walk-ie as the Naglars or some other more modern wide fields but pleasing. I own (and have owned) many in this range, and always have kept this one.

AutoGuiding LX200 - To PEC or not to PEC?

PEC is used to record and then compensate for repeatable errors inherent in all drives. For most fork mounted SCT's this is around a 4 min period (Depends on your gear set in RA). So for short 20 second - or even 1 minute exposures - PEC would not do much. IMO even "auto guiding" probably wouldn't add much - especially at low FL - to be worth it either at those exposure times.
