Here's a photo of the last quarter phase moon 6" achro 3.2 fuji,i usually don't post hereas my picts are far below the high standard of your folks pics, but this one came out nice,digital shot are so easy a cave man can do them.lol.

Mars Sketch 9/18

Saturday night I was able to get in a nice observing session with Mars,the unfiltered view in my 6" achro at 200x looked much like the view of the moon with the naked eye with whitish-yellow planet with darker blue-grey splothes,of course my achro may just turn everthing somewhat bluish, anyway, the south polar cap was small but bright and the hellas basin was very bright almost like a second polar cap,after finishing the sketch, I was shocked when i checked the Mars previewer and saw that Sinus Meridini was near the meridian and I hadn't noticed it, it was very easy to see in 2003,but mars was much larger than than it is now.

Jup skech 7-31-07

Here is a sketch i drew of jup from last monday night,the grs was at one and drifting toward the meridan,the seb was much thicker following the grs and neb had a light rift splitting it in two, several festoons were also prominent.

I think the quality should be similiar as they are both made by the same Synta chinese factory although I could be wrong.

star test question

The star test looks great to me especially compared to the star test that the achros did, inside focus being sharper,brighter means that the scope is undercorrected for spherical aberation, but this scope has very little of that no scope is perfect, but this certainly doesn't look significant to me.

Meade 7-inch Mac vs Celestron 9.25

What kind of mount were you considering for the 9.25?If you went with he Nexstar series,its about a tie,if yoy go with the CGE series advantage Celestron,with the Advanced series [CG-5] advantage Meade.

Great shots, lots of blue festoons in the ez on Jupiter, hard to believe that Mars was once half the apparent size of Jupiter just last summer. Keep up the good work.

Saturn and 5 lunar images

Great photos Paul,in the Alpine Valley photo ,I can see a trace of the Alpine Valley Rille which is the holy grail of lunar addicts, in the straight wall photo, the sword and "hilt" are wonderfully shown, it looks like you just missed the sunrise lunar ray which comes from a gap in he "hilt",again great job and good luck on your new scope thanks for sharing your great photos.

Jupiter Sketch 02.01.04

Another great sketch of Jupiter,I especially like the line of chimney smoke festons angling into the ez.How does Jupiter in your new Newt compare with the view in your old refractor?Did the chromocorr make a big difference in your 6" achro?I have a 6" celestron achro and it gives stunning views of Jupiter but not nearly as detailed as your sketches.In recent photos of Jupiter the dark spot was above the grs has it settled into the the storm? thanks again for sharing your wonderful sketches with us.

Jupiter' Big Blue Spot?

Nice photo, I can see the dark spot just south of the grs,the blue festoons are unusually active this season maybe we will something really unusual this year.
