Hello,

I've never been to an event like NEAF. Is there something like NEAF on the West Coast? Are new scopes available for purchase at NEAF, such as AP's?

Hi,

I have a couple of the older Celestron C80, one orange tube and one black tube. Can someone identify the mount "specifically" for me in the image below? One of the EARS on the mount that holds the OTA in place is broken. It arrived that was via shipping. Everything is in mint condition with the exception of the broken ear. I'm looking for a replace me for insurance purposes? Can any one help with either supplying me with a mount or identify what it is called (Vixen specific model)?

Hello,

I'm looking for some specific (note the specific) help. I would like to attach my Hutch Rebel to a FC100 for imaging purposes. Can someone give me the exact components I would need to accomplish this task? An individual that is currently working with this setup sent me the picture below, but I haven't a clue HOW to identify the necessary components IN THE PICTURE. Any help with actual parts numbers would be appreciated.

I use the DIY rotator + Tak F5.9 reducer + DIY CA-35 + Canon T-ring.

Help with a compass

Sure would apprecaite some speific help with reading a compass I picked up today at a neighbors yard sale. I have the manual, and yes, I did read it but still confused. I set the magnetic declination as per the manual for my area 11,27 East. Here are my specific questions if you can help.

I purchased it so I can setup my mount in the daytime better, as I don't have a fixed pier.

1. Regardless what compass I am using, am I looking for magnitic North or True North?

2. On my specific compass, the blue graduation dial, the one with the blue circle is for compass bearings (forward/back). In the image below, I have it set at 0 degrees. The red (N) is the magnetic north arrow. How do I set my mount up accurately with a compass like the one below. BTW, I have asked Brunton Compass but they weren't any help.
