You don't think the chairman had any influence on the pilot's decision to do a flyby do you?

Ultimately it IS the PILOT'S decision but with the chairman riding shotgun you think he'd have some influence....

betcha the chairman still has his job...

Although you may feel that your evening was "ruined" I thank you for being generous with your time, knowledge, and equipment and sharing the sky with those boy scout kids. I am sure that they have never seen the sky like it must have been that night - and then to get to view through a big scope at those bright objects must have blown their socks off!

You never know, you might have just passed on the "bug" to one of those little kids.

I do know how you feel about not being able to enjoy the night the way you had planned - and I feel for you - I get out maybe 2-3 times a year now and I wouldn't particularly want to spend it with newbies (but I would if I had to) and I hope your kindness and generosity will be paid back unto you with many more dark, clear, steady skies (maybe even without bright lights and non-observers )

You're always welcome to come up to Lockwood as my guest, my Dad Larry's guest, or Floyd's guest... may not be as dark a skies but at least we turn off white lights at dusk!!
