ngc 4449 stars reprocessed

Posted By dietmar hager

hi guys,

I had to do something else than moon imaging these days,...so I reprocessed the image of ngc 4449.
I had picked up some color artefacts, which I hadn`t noticed in the first olace around the bright stars.
this came from using "color range" when working on the colors of the galcxy, without realizing that the stars were "touched" also...

so here we are.
let me remind You of the data on the image first:

NGC 4449
irregular galaxy

date: 14th of april 2007
location: 35 km north of linz, 740m elevation - Austria
9" TMB Apo f/9
SXV H16
seeing 5-6/10
transp 8/10
3 hours luminance (2,4,8,12 minutes)
6x9 min R
6x5 min G
6x10 min B
(colors 2x2 bin)

preprocessing in AstroArt and Maxim DL
postprocessing in Ps CS2 and PixInsight LE

more data and full sized version here:

thanks for looking again, guys!

SXV H16 - review

Posted By dietmar hager

hi guys,

since a couple of fellows asked me about the perfomance of SXV H16 I thought it was time to post a review on this subject.
I know it would better fit into another forum, but most of You referred to me coming from this forum so here we are...
the mods may decide which forum is appropriate. 8)

here is the review:

ngc 6207...who`s that ?

Posted By dietmar hager

hi folks,

well, this guy is the nice galaxy close to M13.
I have taken an M13 image recently and now I thought I should give it a try processing this galaxy seperatly.

even if "she"`s only some 3 arcmin x 1.2 arcmin in size, it was really a pleasure to find, that my 9" TMB Apo has "seen" quite a bunch of details in this galaxy.

I would never have expected this before!
since I have not been very successful in finding nice images on the web, I dare to post this here:

data on the image:

Date: 20.5.2007 - seeing 6/10; transp. 7/10
Scope: 9" TMB Apo f/7 (0,8 TeleVue reducer)
CCD: SXV M25C 2,8 hours
Software: AstroArt4 image acqu. guiding, preprocessing
Processing: postprocess. PS CS2 and Pix InSight LE

M108 finally done...

Posted By dietmar hager

hi guys,

since I was never content with the result of processing the data I had collected in march of M108 I started from scratch today and I am now content with the result.
at least I do not think I can top this with the current data coming from my 9" TMB at f/7 and the one shot color ccd.

I have a ttached the preview image.

and here we are with all images and data on the object:

M106 reprocessed

Posted By dietmar hager

hi again,

since there are still heavy counds rolling over my obs-place I have some time for reprocessing the data of M106.
I created a new pseudoluminance layer in channelmixer, processed it in CCD sharp and waveletes of registax, as well as a high pass filter.
the colors were done from scratch also.

here are the images and data on the object:
