2" diagonal and field of view?

Posted By Chris Watts

I have recently purchased a 2" diagonal, and am using smaller eyepieces with an adapter. I believe I am noticing a reduced field of view. When moving to a 2" diagonal, will my field of view increase or decrease with smaller eyepieces?

PHD and Meade LPI imager?

Posted By Chris Watts

I have the PHD guiding software and want to use my Meade LPI imager. can this be used with PHD? I notice it is not a listed camera, rather the Meade DSI I, II, and III are listed?

Losmandy G-11 Equatorial Mount w/ Gemini 2 GoTo Sy

Posted By Chris Watts

How does the Losmandy G-11 stack up against a Celestron CGEM - DX, or CGE Pro? I am looking for a solid mount for the best value for ap work. I will be using smaller scopes AT6, or 80 mm refractor. I have an observatory, will not be portable.

any thoughts advice is appreciated on these mount choices.

Size Refractor to piggy back on a Celestron Ultima

I am looking at this scope used for $350. Does that sound like a reasonable scope and price for what I want to do?

M31 after a bit of work

I am curious. why is this galaxy so much more 'cloud/gas' looking as apposed to more individual stars in some spiral galaxys? I have always been curious about that.

Thanks,
Chris

2" diagonal and field of view?

Posted By Chris Watts

Disregard this post. I just found a great thread on 2" vs 1.25" eyepieces and learned a great deal from that thread. It would appear that I need to put my focal reducer inline with my 2" diagonal. I have the reducer 6.3, but do not have it installed on my 8" Celestron Ultima.
