Would this be it? Kinda comical...

Sometime in the fall of 1954, while a 31-year-old Alabama housewife named Ann Hodges napped on her sofa, an eight-and-a-half pound meteorite was roaring through the sky.

Moments later, it smashed through her roof and smacked her on the hip. That'll teach you to sleep on the job (kidding).

Luckily, Hodges was left bruised but otherwise unharmed by the grapefruit-sized rock, which her neighbors described as a fireball shooting through the sky. Hodges became a minor celebrity and later donated the meteorite to the Alabama Natural History Museum.

More recently, a German boy claimed he too was hit by a meteorite while walking to school in June of this year. The 14-year-old German student said he saw a flash of light just before he was hit by the pea-sized meteor. Who knew a pebble could be so dangerous?

Wish we had some of those beautiful skies now. One more thing, on the rock ledge toward the bottom right, that look's like a Martian standing and looking over the edge. You sure you were at red rock canyon and not .....up there? lol,,Beautiful photo.

Hi Steve,
I have used this edgeguard on the dob's that I have built. It has metal inside the rubber so that it can be crimped to hold it on the edge of the tube. It's actually quite good. Made my sonotube dob's look more professionally built and does it's job of guarding the edge's of the ota.

These thing's are so difficult to understand and accept when it's someone so close to you. You'll alway's have great memories of fun time's with your friend. My prayer's go out to his family and for you too Marty. I'm sure you'll alway's make his family know that you are there for them to help them heal. Sometime's just knowing they have a caring friend will help carry them thru this terrible time in their live's.

Ofcourse we will all be praying for your wife. I have sent your posting to some of my friend's also so that they will pray for her too. Your wife need's you to be strong for her, so you make sure to take care of yourself thru all this. Just put it in God's hand's, it's alway's easier that way. He has control over everthing.

I enjoyed your video, very entertaining and informative. Thank's for sharing it with us.
I would love to have the equipment you have. But I could show how easy it is to roll my dob into the driveway then gently pull it over into the grass. My table even has wheel's, but I gotta carry my LXD 75 the entire 30 feet....Lol!

Yeah Dave, thats the only reason I want this set up, so I can see Detroit,,,,hahahaha!!! I think I may have found a good tube though, but it's from arizona. I think it's a pretty good price too, Just waiting on a reply. I just now found my message about it. That would be so much better than a sonotube, if I dont mess it up putting everything together. I love tinkering with these things.
