Stiffen with embedded mineral fibers away from the optical side? Would create a composite structure heavier on the plastic side (usually such efforts have more stiff elements than plastic or sticky ones).

By the way- I wasn't clear from the second episode (my attention was drawn away)- what happened to the two crewmembers who went through the ring to the other planet- did they make it back to the ship, or were they left behind?

If the latter maybe they'll set up their own empire like the two Ferengi did when they got stuck in another quadrant at the end of the shifting wormhole.

Hmmmm- let's see, Native Americans just settled for pennies on the dollar with the US Government, in a case about mismanagement of Indian properties and billions they were bilked out of over a century, because that was the best they could get, even under the supposed ultraliberal current administration.

Something tells me that this won't be the case with the profits of the movie and its spinoff products.

The ripoff never ends, does it...?

Not to reply to the post directly, I wanted to ask how you feel about the Baha'i religion. They are persecuted in most of the Islamic world- in Iran they are essentially nonpersons. Their faith is unrecognized as anything but heresy, they are denied jobs, university studentships, they can be arrested without cause, beaten, many have been killed extrajudicially or executed.

Interesting behavior against a small minority, especially by a religion purporting to be all about peace, justice, love, and mercy.
