Say what you will about Trump but there was nobody out there who could have endured all the Bullshit the Democrat party of sleaze politics threw at him.

What politician could have withstood the barrage of bile, hatred, anger, threats of prosecution, an FBI/DOJ investigation by a team of 30 or more Mueller probe partisan hacks. 2 impeachments, and you name it, they attacked him with it.

Who could have endured more?  I challenge anyone to name the person or the politician who could taken their crap and their lies the way he did.

Nikki Haley doesn't stand a chance and I'm guessing she'll be gone by the summer.  It will be too much for her to bear.
I hope you are wrong.  We'll know once the primary races start to heat up.

What is sad is that it matters not one wit what any Democrat woman has done, said, or engaged in over her past, every single one will receive kid glove pitty pat on the head treatment from these dirtbags in the media, but if any woman is a Republican and decides to run for office, they will try to destroy her and they will label her with every vile name and slime her in any way possible.

Please tell me I'm wrong about my thoughts there.  shocked sad
I do think you are wrong - as a matter of degree, not on the fundamentals.  The left wing press is vile to rightwingers, and the right wing press is vile to left wingers.

For example, I am not a fan of Harris, AOC or Ilhan Omar - not by a long shot.  Even so, I think it is objectively true that the right wing press, from Fox on down, has been in 24/7 attack mode concerning these and other women of the left.  Has Fox treated Pelosi kindly?  Hardly.

So, please understand that I expect the left wing press to pull every dirty trick they can to minimize Haley's chances.  I believe also that left wingers get the same shabby treatment from the right wing press.

The fringe-y Trump press for sure.  I am not so sure that the big players on the right (Fox predominately) are all that pro-Trump anymore.  I've been focusing on NCAA basketball though, not politics, so I might have missed something!

Hi Brian:

I clicked through on one of these, even though I totally believed your original research.  It is amazing how long these sort of lies or tall tales tend to hang around.  Funny thing is, if someone did the research going back to the early 1800s, I'd guess the true list of crimes and moral failures committed by Congressmen would be impressive indeed.  It is a relatively modern thing that drunk driving and the like were even prosecuted, if you were a man of wealth and influence.

But that is not why I am posting!

While at Snopes I learned that Lee Marvin and Bob Keeshan (Captain Kangaroo) did not fight together at Iwo Jima, although both were in the Marines during WWII.  Lee Marvin did get injured in the Pacific Theater, he was awarded a Purple Heart, and he is buried at Arlington.  There's a genuine tough guy for you!  Captain Kangaroo enlisted weeks before his 18th birthday, but in his words, "We dropped the bomb before I saw action."  I bet he was still pretty tough!  So, I learned something today!

Fox News Deposition Statements On the Big Lie

“Donald Trump called on patriots to stop the steal,” said Biggs’ lawyer Norm Pattis. “We’re calling on Donald Trump to take the stand.”

But a Greg says, what legal trouble?

But don't count on any responses from these guys, they'd rather talk about fake things like dumb old jokes and Greg's fake list the NFL thread.

Wonder why they don't want to talk about actual fact based political news???
Hi Jim:  Do you (or Rod, anyone else) actually think that the DOJ will get criminal charges to stick against Trump?  I do not.  The classified documents fiasco is diluted beyond any chance of a single prosecution, thanks to Biden, Clinton and Pence.  So far there are no allegations that Trump planned sedition in advance, like the Proud Boys did.  Trump gave a speech that has incendiary language, (and exculpatory language, he gets to lawyer up too, if necessary).  Trump lied about election fraud.  Is a political lie a crime?  I don't think so.  The tax returns?  Was there any meat there?  Haven't heard much about the returns in a very long time.

Bottom line, I think Trump owned the press to the extent they have been spinning tales of criminal charges for the last couple of years.  The opposition press has enabled Trump and strengthened him, and that pisses me off.  Trump's big lie of a stolen election is shameful, scurrilous, dangerous, and in my opinion the big lie standing alone should disqualify him from the presidency in the eyes of any reasonable voter.  But criminal charges?  I'll believe that when I see it.

Please explain your reasoning again if you would, and maybe explain why you think each state should have perhaps dozens of Senators, rather than the 2 per state that is defined in the US Constitution under Article 1, Section 3, Clause 1.  I don't remember what your convoluted reasoning was at the time, but I do remember it was a doozy!    smile
Quit calling my friends derogatory nicknames please.  It makes it very difficult for me to have a reasoned dialog with you.  Not sure if you care, but I do.

Your question is so far off topic as to be a diversion, but it is a diversion that interests me.  It is easy to explain why the Senate and EC are unfair.  These institutions undermine the concept of each voter's vote being of the same weight.  If you believe in the wisdom of 1 man, 1 vote, then the Senate and EC are grossly unjust.

For example, (assuming my math is right) the two senators from California represent approximately 20,000,000 citizens each.  The 4 Senators from the Dakotas represent approximately 900,000 citizens each.  900 thousand vs. 20 million!  Yikes!  I am a big fan of the Senate and the EC, but I would never argue that they are "fair."  I would argue that these institutions are "wise."  Jim

Now about the classified documents on Trump's aide's laptop, what say ye?...
James' last couple of posts are similar to what he, I, and others have been posting for weeks.  No one of these untouchables is going to be prosecuted for mishandling classified information.  I know I've asked before, but do you think Trump will be prosecuted for anything?  I would be shocked.  The classified information crimes are not prosecutable, the taxes were apparently a long awaited story that was stillborn.  Sedition?  Not a chance for Trump.  He didn't move guns across state lines or anything like that.

Look, the big lie is something I personally think should disqualify Trump in the minds of voters forever, even people who don't already have a million other reasons to not vote for him.  But Trump is not going to be prosecuted, and that has emboldened him.  If we get Trump as president elect in 2024 we will have legislators like Schiff, and news outlets like the NYT and CNN to thank for it.  They all but promised prosecutions, and they have failed to deliver.  angry

Maybe the state prosecutors can get him on some sort of technicality, as Jim M. mentioned, but I doubt it.

Thanks.  It will be interesting to see what happens in the next two years, and then we can revisit our different predictions.  (Unless we are too old to remember talking about it!)
