Jupiter June 1, 2005

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

I'm trying to get caught up again. Here is an image of Jupiter shot on the evening of June 1, 2005. Seeing was decent, but again the evening was quite warm. This set gave me a chance to compare images from my C925 and Orion ED100. My conclusion is that while both images are very nice, the C925 definately shows more finer detail, as would be expected. The two images are as they came from the telescope, but turned out to be nearly the same size. (I think I have slightly miscalculated the final F/R for the ED100 image....it should be around F/48 instead of F/42.)

Mars June 3, 2005

Hi all,

Mars is getting better each day. This is my latest effort. I got some shots this morning (June 4) where I can actually ID features.

More and better as time goes on....

Jupiter from June 2, 2005

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

I'm slowly gaining on my unprocessed images...until I go out again tonite and tomorrow morning... :-D . Here is a 4 shot sequence of the double transit from June 3 at about 0300UT. Details are on the image. The evening was so windy that it was an effort to keep the image in the FOV!

I wish I could do solar imaging right now, but my doctor wants me out of the sun for another 2-3 weeks, so I depend on others for my solar fix...

Hi all,

Got another series of Jupiter processed. Seeing was fair, but not great. The GRS is just rising.

Mars June 4, 2005

Hi all,

Another somewhat fuzzy Mars, this image I can identify Sinus Meridianus. In the next day or two Syrtis Major and Hellas swings into view.

Mars and Jupiter images.

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

Still working to get caught up on my unprocessed images. This entries are a Jupiter from the evening of June 4 and Mars from the morning of June 5. The Jupiter is one of my better images, I experimented with Mars and shot it at 15fps instead of 10fps and while it isn't the best, it was better than the 10fps images. More to come later...

Jupiter June 5, 2005

Hi all,

My internet connection was down and it gave me the opportunity to process another Jupiter sequence. Seeing on June 5 was not as good as June 4, but still pretty nice.
