Fox News & Tucker's "Cherry-Picking" Of Jan 6th Riot

And if a Newsman like Tucker Carlson puts forth the Exculpatory evidence that may Clear the defendant in the case and show that the gov't withheld that evidence ILLEGALLY from the lawyer for the Q-Anon Shaman, then according to YOU he's an ass kisser is he?

You made that claim.  Sounds like something right out of Mao's Communist China or Stalin's Soviet Union.

You weren't personal friends with Laventy Beria were you?  Did he teach you this crap?

So then I guess if a defense lawyer goes into court and demands to be shown the evidence that the gov't has on both sides, evidence to convict and evidence to exonerate, that lawyer is an ass-kissing fascist is he?

I say that because the Q-Anon Shaman's lawyer was on FoxNews yesterday and he said that the gov't withheld the evidence to exonerate him, and that seems to be precisely what the gov't prosecutors did.

It has been said that a grand jury may indict a ham sandwich.

In fact his lawyer confirmed flat out that the Q-Anon guy WAS HELD IN SOLITARY CONFINEMENT.

The lawyer's words were "We BEGGED the gov't to let him out of solitary confinement but they would not"

He showed the gov't that the guy had been diagnosed 15 years ago with a mental illness and yet they did not care.

The cops that day led the guy around AFTER they claimed he broke through barriers and attacked cops.

One of the charges he was indicted for was having a weapon.

How could that be?  If he had a weapon and attacked cops why in the world did the cops later escort him around the Capitol Bldg?

What do you think that "weapon" was?   It was the American Flag on a flagpole.  That's what the weapon was that they charged him with.

You truly are a sad individual.  Your TDS is probably oozing out of your ears at this point.
Your last line is a joke, Russ seems well grounded to me.  Did you read the indictment and pre-trial orders for Billy your Proud Boy buddy?  I posted them yesterday, but you have apparently overlooked them.  With a little Googling, you can find these sort of court documents for all of the more noteworthy defendants, including the Q guy.  The court documents might paint a different picture than the wife, or Fox, or whatever your source du jour might be.  It is up to you to decide which source to believe.

I have no idea who this guy is or what he did.  Do you?

Because I believe in Due Process, unlike you, then it means Billy the Proud Boy is my buddy?

Is this now how you're going to operate putting up straw men like your BS above, to knock down because you can't support some of your ignorant positions?

I guess if that's all you've got though, you're free to go down that pathetic road making up more lies that this Proud Boy guy is my buddy.

I don't know anything about the proud boys but if smearing me lying and saying "Billy is your Proud Boy Buddy", then revert to that pathetic tactic.  No wonder you were never a trial attorney.  smile

You know something counselor, you are a total clown.  I guess in your world and your idea of Constitutional protections afforded by the Bill of Rights says GUILTY as charged until proven innocent.

You and these jokers on the left.   wink
I trust no one else was confused, after reading my post, into thinking that Rich literally has a best friend, buddy-type relationship with Billy the Proud Boy from Olathe Kansas?

I was a courtroom attorney for 11 years, but not in the criminal justice system.

In my world, I read the indictment, the pre-trial orders, and think "Looks like Billy is getting what he deserves."  In your world, you read the AMAC newsletter and think that Billy's civil rights are being trampled.  To each his own.

Please re-read your posts.  You never used those words, but that was the gist of your point, as interpreted by any reader.  Unlike your actual words of "held without charges" and "in solitary" which I proved you actually used, after you had a fit and denied it.

That is pretty fascist.  I would prefer a simultaneous release to all interested news and media organizations.

Montana Senate Bill #235

The opponents of the teaching of Evolutionary Theory often make the fundamental mistake of mistaking "a theory" - a guess or hypothesis in informal or non-scientific speech - for "theory".  "Oh, Evolution is just a theory, not a fact" they say.  But  'theory' in this context actually involves a body of connected knowledge and accepted explanations of a phenomenon or process, based upon a gigantic body of factual observations and subject to change if evidence warrants.

Plate Tectonic Theory, Gravitational Theory, Quantum Mechanical Theory,  Genetic Theory, Evolutionary Theory, Atomic Theory and so on are each gigantic bodies of individual facts and observations which, taken together, robustly explain the particular phenomenon and lead to accurate and repeatable predictions in those fields.

The opponents of the teaching of Evolution fall all over themselves to try to appear 'scientific' in their approach.  What they should do is be honest and just say the following:  "Our religion clearly states that  God created life  , not that life evolved from common ancestors and simpler forms.  We insist that our religious view be forced upon everyone."  But they are never this honest.  And so we get bills like the one we are talking about here.

Dave

Good post.

On edit, great post.  Well written, Concise.  One for the scrapbook.  There is simply nothing more to say concerning scientific truth, or the motivation of the author of this bill and like minded people.  We are left with just the crumbs of dissecting Rod's motivation for posting this obscure bill as a topic here.

Personally, I doubt Rich is "fine" with this bill just like I doubt he is fine censoring those books listed in your other post.  (Several are fine books by the way, and it is a crime to censor them.)  David said everything there is to say about the Montana Bill.

Rich simply has to argue whether he believes in the cause or not.  Arguing everything is his nature.  It is the core of his being.  We'll see if he disagrees.  I bet he does.  He can't help himself.

I doubt those books from the other thread were censored on any scale by the way.  Some local religious fanatic either called for them to be removed, or succeeded, in one remote library.  Greg is right, your post reflects just a thinly veiled and fairly ineffective swipe at DeSantis.

Same thing going on here here - a thinly veiled swipe at all Rs as science denying fanatics based upon a half-baked and stillborn attempt to get evolution out of the public schools.  That ship sailed in the 1950s.  99.999% of Republicans either want proper science taught in the public schools, or they are Bible literalists and know that rhetorical war was lost long ago.  So they send their kids to fundamentalist schools or home-school them.  Sucks to be those kids.  Not the state's business though.

Lots of this sort of "guilt by association" political attack writing in the press today but with respect to your crush MTG.  At least two articles on RCP where the author smears all Republicans as being in lockstep with MTGs nonsense du-jour.  It's not subtle.  Is it effective?  Maybe for the lefty base, But the lefty base was not going to vote R in any case.

I always laugh when people say evolution is just a theory meaning it's not proven. The truth is the idea of evolution is an accepted scientific fact. And, like it or not, humans, too, are a product of evolution and natural selection.
Idle musings:

I don't run with a literal-Bible crowd, James, but even my Evangelical Christian friends (I have several) believe in evolution.  They have made peace with the science.  I've always thought that evolution was not inconsistent with God.  No reason for God to be a micro-manager in my view, but I'm a heretic, I suppose.

Your experiences with literalists might differ.  But I think evolution  is no longer a political issue with legs.  Neither is gay marriage.

Plenty anti-science on the left too.  GMOs are scary Frankenfoods rather than the means to end third world starvation, rickets and other maladies.  Childhood vaccines (other than Covid, of course)?  So many lefties say, not in my baby, he'll catch autism!  Vitamin cocktails, sold by your favorite celebrity.  Stop the aging process!  Billions spent on those, and I doubt it is by Kansas farm wives.   Our favorite here, astrology!  (It just tells me so much about myself and my soul mate!)  Crystals and so on.  We  have a metaphysical wares store in my neighborhood, and I might be the only R in a mile.

Scientific illiteracy knows no political boundaries.  J
