SIB Mars from June 6, 2005

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

Here is Mars from June 6, 2005. The B&W image was shot with a #2 wrattan filter. These images were shot a full 30 minutes after sunrise. Seeing was dramatically better in the first 1/2 to 3/4 hour after sunrise for Mars. These qualify as SIB's (Sunset imagers Brotherhood) wink a term we coined here at Astromart... **chuckle**

The Lum just arrived...

...so hopefully I'll get to try it out very soon, unless the astronomy gods do their thing and cloud it up around here for a while... grin

Mars and Sunspots June 8

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

Mars is getting a little better each day (except today where I was clouded in). The two large sunspot groups are very nice as well. If these clouds stay today, I may start to get caught up on processing.

For some reason, they seem dark in my browser. The brightness was fine in PaintShop Pro. I'll have to think about that.

Hi all,

Getting caught up I think. Here is Jupiter shot on the evening of June 8. It turned out better than it looked on the capture screen.

Sunspots and Jupiter from June 9, 2005.

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

I am way behind and getting further behind. I'll catch up eventually. Here are images of Jupiter from the evening of June 9 and our nice large sunspot groups taken during the day on June 9.

Seeing was fair that day, but the current weather pattern promises better seeing for the next few days.

I have updated my sunspot page on my webpage to include both 775 and 776 sequences. More to follow.

Thanks for looking.
