Hi all,

Mars continues to get better and better. Here is an image shot on June 9 in decent seeing. The planet looks status quo for now. My 610nm Longpass filter sure works nice on Mars!! Funny thing, it works better if I do not use a NIRB filter....go figure! :-D

Equatorial mount for a C925

Hi,

I am thinking about equatorially mounting my C925. I prefer not to use a wedge (personal reasons). I am pricing CGE mounts, but would research other options. I'm sure many of you have much more experience than me. Any suggestions, and what would I need to buy in addition to your suggestion to make it work (dovetail, Go-to, etc).

Not as good as the previous evening's Jupiter, but considering the heat in my area and location of the planet, I'm happy. Interesting very dark spot just below and left of the GRS.

Hi all,

Here is an image I shot of Mars on June 13, 2005. The first image was shot in normal colour with the NIRB filter. The second was shot in B&W with a 610nm Longpass filter, the third with a Wratten #80a filter. I do not know what wavelength the #80 filter centers on. The split in the SPC shows quite clearly, and there does not appear to be any large clouds.

Sunspot groups AR775 and 776 June 13, 2005

Hi all,

Me again. This time more of those two nice sunspot groups AR775 and 776. Looking today, AR775 is around the sun and I managed to get a last image of AR776. This I hope to post in the next couple of days. Meanwhile AR779 is doing nicely now as well, and another smaller group is coming on the face.
