And you call Jan 6th "all that BS"...
The main difference I see between Greg's position and and yours Rod is in your different opinions about the scope of the overall event, Jan 6's proper place in history in other words. Greg acknowledges that bad actors committed crimes and should pay the price. Greg balks at the word "insurrection" though, because he sees Jan 6 as a pathetic, doomed, and entirely ineffective attempt to actually overthrow the government or to actually overturn the election.
Greg, please correct my summary if I am reading you wrong.
Rod, you on the other hand are pretty careful not to come out and say it, but it seems to me that your opinion is different, it sounds like you think the proud boys and other criminals had a legitimate shot at stopping the transfer of power to Biden. That this is an insurrection that failed, but just barely. Maybe I am overstating it? Let me know.
One thing everyone seems to agree on is that those who committed crimes should be and are prosecuted. Rich often argues the Jan 6 defendants are being over-zealously prosecuted. I disagree.
Another thing we can all acknowledge, whether we like it or not, is that Jan 6 will forever be portrayed as a civil-war scale event by the Democrats and downplayed as a fairly routine riot by Republicans. Such is politics. Jim
