Hi Rod - I gotta mention that you have been pretty worked up about the travel and perks Justice Thomas has received from his billionaire friend, and there is clearly not any judicial quid-pro-quo.   Thomas's judicial philosophy was cast in stone before he ever met the rich guy.

That said, if virtually anything in yesterday's briefing turns out to be true, the some Biden people need to go to jail, for tax fraud at least.  Even if the eventual prosecutor can not prove that Joe swayed policy in exchange for money, it has to violate some laws for millions to be transferred from foreign entities through a multitude of shell corporations to end up in the pockets of various and sundry Bidens.   Especially when Uncle James, son Hunter and the rest have no particular skills to offer in exchange for the money.     

For the love of Pete, please notice that I said if any of these allegations turn out to be true.   We have a long way to go before that is demonstrated.  Jim

Registax (free) wavelet processing of stacked image
Photoshop.  Not free, but man is it full featured!  I use this to blend a brighter prom photo with the dimmer disk photo, sharpen some more and generally mess around.

Kudos to CNN for holding the town hall.  Trump is the R front runner.  It is not CNN's job (or any news agencies' job) to de-platform him.   I hope that Biden has a similar town hall.   

In other words, last night was not CNN or "the media" in general v. DJT.   This was (in my view) the media presenting a candidate to the public.  Let the public decide.  No doubt the opinion writers of the world will have a field day today and tomorrow dissecting Trump's lies and zingers.   No problem, we can all weight those opinions and make our own decisions.

All I am really saying is that AOC and her type are shaming CNN for the mortal sin of giving Trump air time.   They would prefer to de-platform opinion they disagree with, in their view "for the good of the country."  That is wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong!   News agencies should be proud to present the candidates "as is" and let the people decide.

I see your point, I'm not sure how CNN selected the audience.   Usually these town halls are supposed to be mixed audiences?  In any case, politicians have been stage managing town halls and debates forever.   If CNN was rolled by the Trump team, that is maybe not ideal, but it is many many orders of magnitude better than the coordinated de-platforming effort that some are calling for, at least according to the article Jim linked to originally.   

It sounds almost like you think CNN was being purely political and let Trump play them, so that he would win the primary and then lose the general.  Do you think they are really that cynical?  Are they really that bold?  Pretty high stakes game if this is the game they are playing.  Although I agree that Biden loses if he faces anyone other than Trump.

Trump's world is so incredibly bizarre.  I know exactly what my wife's position would be if I lost a $5M judgement for sexual abuse, but I told her that I won because - "hey, she didn't prove I raped her!"   Ha Ha - dead Jimmy.

Yet Trump's sycophants laugh it off.   I blame the condescending elites in government and the press as much as anyone else for creating these sorry Trump lovers, who will apparently forgive any sin so long as Trump promises to stick it to the man.  But seriously, will it ever end?   My hope is that Trump lost people like me during his first term, that he lost lots more after the big lie and Jan 6, and that he continues to lose everyone who is not a total sycophant, thus making him unelectable.   My prayer is that someone beats him in the primary.   My worst nightmare is that Biden stumbles so badly in the general that Trump wins by default.

What a Dick. And I say that in a most disparaging way.
In my opinion, Rich is a perfect example of the Trump supporter.  In my opinion, Rich supports him because Trump lashes out at the press, the democrats and all the people Rich hates.  Thus, Rich gloats because Trump "beat up" on CNN and Rich hates CNN.  Rich and Trump view this as an entirely us-against-them world and they think that any alleged win, no matter how illegitimate is a huge and patriotic win.  Trump never loses an argument, and neither does his local carbon copy.  Trump can insult a woman who just won a $5M verdict against him and Rich is OK with that.   Trump can lie endlessly about the 2020 election results and Rich is OK with that too.   

Rich loves and adores Trump, even though he knows that damn near everything Trump says is a lie.   The ends justify the means and the ultimate goal of "owning the libs" apparently justifies any means, any lie, any sin whatsoever.

p.s.  I mixed up "dimmer" and "brighter" above, sort of.   The disk itself is a lot brighter in reality than the proms, but the proms image is brighter because you have to bump up the exposure or gain a bit to capture decent proms even though that gain/exposure setting more or less washes out the disk.  This is not at all obvious when doing visual H alpha.  The human eye/brain has remarkable dynamic range.
