I have said that the anecdotal evidence is growing and that studies are underway.....and I simply posted a link to the 1st completed study results I saw. I never said anything regarding its scientific legitimacy. Yet I am according to you "boldly" going about it and overstating the case badly.....meanwhile the anecdotal evidence continues to come out. My only position on this is were I laying in the hospital dying I would gladly give it go regardless of all your negative ninny sky is falling rhetoric. In fact if there were evidence that koolaid had been known to be effective I would only ask for grape flavored and plenty of it instead of lying there waiting to die....

I have also seen claims that quinine combined with zinc has been used successfully as well.....so bring on the Sweps mineral water and zinc tabs as well LOL
Yeah, right, Greg, you've been on the hydrox band wagon from day 1 and you dismiss any evidence of lack of efficacy as "Rod's hysterics" or your tired, worn-out trademark: Lol.  Then, when you get called on it, you come up with silly crap above...

Rich Davis said: "No, Greg has been very consistent from what I've read from him."
Yup: "No more silly than trying to tell people HCQ isnt as safe as dying"...

Fortunately, no. Given the need for controlled clinical trials are essentially, I've already been trying something akin to this based upon empirical evidence:
"To reduce the risk of infection, it is recommended that people at risk of influenza and/or COVID-19 consider taking 10,000 IU/d of vitamin D3 for a few weeks to rapidly raise 25(OH)D concentrations, followed by 5000 IU/d. The goal should be to raise 25(OH)D concentrations above 40-60 ng/mL (100-150 nmol/L). For treatment of people who become infected with COVID-19, higher vitamin D3 doses might be useful. Randomized controlled trials and large population studies should be conducted to evaluate these recommendations."
I've been taking oral doses, not as much as stated above, but at least I know I'm not deficient. You can either get sick as you've implied in a prior post or tank-up on hydrox. I'll take my chances With D and C and Zinc until we have more definitive proof of a remedy or a vaccine for prevention.

Irrelevant? Your quote from Greg, specifically what he said, "No more silly than trying to tell people HCQ isnt as safe as dying"...is irrelevant, ignorant, stupid, take your pick...

A couple of critical points from the governor's presentation.  First, our state is focusing on four things:  (1) social distancing, (2) masks, (3) testing, tracing and isolation and (4) protecting vulnerable populations.

According to our local disease model, we acknowledge that social distancing will drop some percentage from the current level, as we move from the a stay at home order to a slightly more relaxed "safer at home" model.  Without #2, 3, 4 above, our model predicts that Colorado Covid cases overwhelm the local healthcare scene under either a "stay at home order" or the "safer at home plan" but the overwhelming happens about two weeks later under the stay at home order.  When we add #2, 3, and 4 to the model, we stay well within the capacity of the system whether the stay at home order were extended or not.  This of course informs the Governor's decision to let the stay at home order expire and roll out successively less stringent plans over time.  Contrary to the stories popular in the national press this week, we have the medical capacity whether or not we extend the order, provided we do the other stuff.

I found it very interesting, and contrary to the national story that Colorado's experts think #3, testing, tracing and isolation, while important, is not the be-all and end-all strategy that the national pundits describe it as.  Colorado acknowledges the usefulness of testing as a tool, but we are not relying on testing as the cornerstone strategy to limit infections to a manageable level.  Our model incorporates a 5% increase in the testing of symptomatic persons each week, but it is now apparent that testing symptomatic persons is too late in many cases, they have already infected several others.

More importantly in the Gov's expert's opinion, Colorado is focusing on ramping up the testing of everyone who must work with the elderly, prisoners, compromised folks etc.  This is #4.  Folks have been talking about #4 nationally, but I have not read that it really is a forefront strategy, like our Governor describes.  The Governor already had some success stories of positive test but asymptomatic care givers being isolated from the old-folks home population before they infected anyone.  Good work that.  The Gov. was pretty clear that #1, 2, and 4 are at least as important as ramped up testing, tracing and isolation.

Here's what Newsom's six point plan, unveiled yesterday entails:
The ability to monitor and protect communities through testing, contact tracing, isolating and supporting those who are positive or exposed.
The ability to prevent infection in people who are at risk for more severe COVID-19.
The ability of the hospital and health systems to handle surges.
The ability to develop therapeutics to meet the demand.
The ability for businesses, schools and child care facilities to support physical distancing.
The ability to determine when to reinstitute certain measures, such as the stay-at-home orders, if necessary.
We in Ca still want to know the same thing: When!
