How about that GOP frontrunner DJT on CNN last night!

An appeal to moderates and independents is certainly what the team wants, they are presumably professionals.   Their boss is uncontrollable though, and if a MAGA rally presents itself, Trump is gonna MAGA rally.   This was a theme in the last South Park episode by the way.   Very funny.

I'm curious how your friend deals with Trump's lies and moral failures?  Does he deny that the lies are even lies, for instance does he actually think the 2020 election was stolen or that E. Jean Carroll was just making up a fictitious assault for money?  Or does he just accept the lies and hold his nose because Trump is more likely to advance your friend's favored policies than any Democrat would be?

Did he cringe during the town hall when Trump repeated the big 2020 lie, or when Trump attacked Carroll to the delight of the crowd?   Or did he fist pump and say "hell yeah!"  Or was it something in the middle, along the lines of "I wish Trump wouldn't do that, but I sure would like more conservative judicial appointments...."

I know you don't speak for your friend, but I am curious about your impression.

In short, there is no incentive for the existence of left-leaning radio.
Hi James, Mike Rosen retired years ago, at least in the Denver market, and he was no charlatan.   Rosen was/is a very articulate voice of fiscal conservatism.   He was quite liberal on social issues IIRC.

There is certainly tons of left wing content.  Look at the pod casts Rod posts all the time.  I imagine that the lefty demographics get their echo chamber fix on line, or maybe from MSNBC etc. not the radio.   It takes a genuine old-timer to listen to talk radio.   I'm not nearly old enough to be a talk radio regular.   (Although I loved Mike Rosen when he was on the air.)

I think you knew all this of course and are just baiting Richard, but what the hell....

Do you remember extreme lefty Randi Rhodes on Air America?   I used to hate her!   When I was younger and more easily fired up.  She is still out there:   Streaming her content to adoring lefties.   https://randirhodes.com/   Lots more like her.   No doubt you've heard of Keith Olbermann!

And honestly, it doesn't matter how the host leaned politically; it's still a bad sample.
Absolutely, the weird thing is that Rich signaled it was a bad sample in his original post, and then pushed back when you confirmed it.  Funny.

Basically, it's a loud and obnoxious right wing echo chamber that's fact-challenged, to put it mildly. It's where these guys get their "news"...
We disagree.  The gun control podcast you posted the other day was loud, fact-challenged, and obnoxious.  The podcaster had no discernable credentials.  I don't know what his audience size is, but some podcasters have audiences much larger than your typical radio host.

The times they are a changing.

Hi Rod - the quote button won't let me quote your eyepiece post... weird.  Anyway, nice post.  You are in the top echelon of visual observers, and I am always impressed with your contributions here and at CN.  I agree about the various levels of knowledge at CN too, way too many know-it-alls with no real experience.

My eyepiece collection takes a bit of explaining.   As you all know, Al Nagler and his team designed the Nagler, Ethos, and other bleeding edge eyepiece designs.  Meade copied them first, and now various other Chinese vendors copy them - E.S. and the like.  No harm I guess, the price of the various copies is right and some may like the copies better.

But part of me, maybe the part that got me into patent law (even though Nagler's designs are off patent) wants to own and support the original designer.  So all my eyepieces, at least the ones I use, are Televue.  I have a pair of 24 mm Panoptics for my binoviewer.  A couple of pairs of Nagler type 6s for the binos (13, 7 and 5), and a couple of Ethos, in 2" format, which work so incredibly well for inexperienced guests, and which I love so much have all but caused me to mothball the binos.

My first eyepieces in 1984 or so were Televues.  I wish I still had that smooth-sided 1980s era 32 mm plossl.  I sold it here I think!  So for dumb loyalty, or for whatever reason, color me green and black!  Jim
