Is the goal Which marketing executive can TANK an entire company FASTER than the other Exec?

No doubt you are correct Rod, but where is the fun for up-tight righties if stock prices can't be blamed on trans advertising?

Supply and demand for the actual shares dictated the price drop.
Pure unprovable speculation is our 'stock in trade' here.  wink

On a related note, I was moderately surprised to see that the top parent company owner of the Bud Light brand (AB InBev SA) has over 400 beer brands.  Some of them really good micros too, or at least formerly micros.   Like the Elysians I've had in Seattle.

You are buying the statements of the corporation and their mouthpieces over Russ's wisdom?  I personally think the drop in Target shares is temporary and reflective of broader concerns, not the righty backlash.   I do think the righty backlash effect might be having some effect for Target stock prices though, since it might spook investors.   Still, Russ is 100% right.

FWIW, I think the Dylan Mulvaney Bud Light campaign was the dumbest marketing ploy of my memory, and could forever damage that brand.   Like I just posted though, AB InBev has at least 400 brands sold all over the world, with huge market share where no one has ever heard of Mulvaney, or Bud Light for that matter.

Hi Dave:

I gotta admit that I doubted the authenticity of the NASCAR Pride logo.  These are the folks who brought us "Let's Go Brandon" after all!   But it is legit.  NASCAR has a whole line of tasteful pride gear in their truly extensive on-line store.  Is Smith and Wesson next?

That tactic has obviously confused a great many liberals as well as many liberal RINOs here on the forum and elsewhere, that this is some sort of proof of outrage when it is nothing but concerned reaction by those who give a damn about the destruction of the culture and the intrusion into the teachings by parents to their children.

To explain how it works is simple.  Whenever a group of conservatives shows concern that actions going on are detrimental to the culture and/or society and more importantly impacting their children, the typical and near constant response by leftist media outlets is to label this as outrage

It is simply their new ploy to paint concerned parents and others as hysterics.

Conversely, when liberals take issue with certain aspects of society they feel to be concerning to themselves, those same leftist news outlets, report that reaction as compassionate concern for the weaker amongst us.

Nonetheless it isn't surprising that the smallest and puniest of minds among us are incapable of distinguishing precisely what is occurring and are oblivious to it, and then buy into the lies of the left and then regurgitate the assertion conservatives are outraged.

Apparently it takes a modicum of common sense to get it, even though that common sense seems to be lacking among many RINOs and leftists.

Perhaps it can attributed to their lack of common sense or maybe they just aren't bright enough to understand.

It might boil down to cowardice on their part to take on the left and so they go along to get along with the denigration of the culture in general.  smile
I stand by my characterization.  You are clearly outraged.   You also appear to be obsessed.  All of your recent threads (and you start a lot of threads wink ) have involved outrage over corporations trying (and sometimes failing) to navigate marketing in a world where transgender individuals are becoming more accepted.   Why the obsessive focus on this one topic?

Then you state, "Russ is 100% right."
Huh?!

And you're darn right I'm taking the word of those noted in my link, "corporate executives and retail and investment analysts", over that of one Russ on the AM. It's their job to get it right and I'd don't believe they're all collectively wrong, apparently unlike you. And they're analyzed the data whereas neither you or Russ have.
Both Russ and Turley are entitled to their own opinions but not their own facts. There's no way in Hyades Target could have lost nine billion in a week because of some  rightwing self described and created boycott because it hadn't even taken off yet and there wasn't enough time for it to take effect. That 9 billion dollar loss was a cumulative loss...
I have my opinion of course, as I've hopefully made clear in a few threads.  I think that right wing backlash has hurt AB InBev more than it has hurt Target, but I have no idea whether I am right.  I also think the drop in AB InBev is transitory and predominately reflective of broader market concerns.   The Dylan Mulvany fiasco did not help at all.   That is my opinion, like it or not.

So, Russ is 100% correct (slightly paraphrased):    "Target lost market value because their stock price dropped. Nobody on the planet, other than Adam Smith, can tell you why and it is pure unprovable speculation to guess, so Turley's [Jim] is entitled to his opinion."

Could be that trans-oriented advertising will kill off both AB InBev and Target.   I would be shocked if that happened, but what do I really know about the stock market?

Besides, don't you see the irony in your crowing about the right-wing boycotters switching to Coors and Miller Light, only to find out that Coors and Miller Light are just as "woke" as Bud? Will you right-wingers now boycott Coors and Miller?
If they have any brains at all, or I guess I should say taste buds, they will boycott all mass market beer and try something craft brewed and local!
