True enough, but you could run the same test on CN and I don't think anyone would notice...

Covid updates: Michigan continues spiking to lead the country while Florida has the most variants of any state and is spiking overall, too...

No doubt about it, that's the case in Florida. Their governor, of course, aids and abets...
In Michigan, the maskholes and coividiots, led by a wealthy conservative, went to the state supreme court to have the state mask mandate overturned. The conservative supreme court justice who heard the case and previously received a campaign donation from the conservative who brought the suit and she still didn't recluse herself!

"Florida ranks third in the nation in known virus infections, surpassing New York. California leads with 3.6 million, followed by Texas with 2.8 million, according to the White House coronavirus report dated Sunday."
"more than one in 10 people in the state have now been infected."

Florida also leads in new case variants.
The stock market is dumping even though corporate earnings are escalating. Why? Covid numbers are increasing! Thank you Ron Desantis and all the other antimaskers and anti vaccers on Fox...

Do you realize that the markets are up about 180% from last March?  I hope you bought the low.

Jim
I'm not a panic person when it comes to the market, if that gives any idea about my approach. I'm merely pointing out that there's got to be a good reason for the market to be taking a dump when corporate earnings show otherwise. What I find galling is the accolades being heaped upon DeSantis for his approach on managing the pandemic in Florida and the reality of the situation obviously different from the hype.

What would you know about the market? The only market you know about is the one you buy your steaks at for your barbecue.
Now, for some reality. Jim Brown thinks he's happy now because the market had a good day after dumping two days in a row and with Dow futures now going south this evening, he may feel less happy on Thursday. We'll see. But, considering he'd be A LOT happier with the Dow at 35000 than he is now, it's safe to say he isn't as nearly as happy as he would be if that were reality...

I do think the market is overheated and it will correct.  I also think that pent-up consumer and travel demand is going to juice the market one of these days, contrary to my own opinion that the market is overheated.   Since I really don't know squat, I don't trade often.

The thing I find funny is your propensity to blame one or two-day market bumps and jitters on some Republican, DeSantis in this case.  This is something you've done for years and I always find it humorous, given the long-term trend.  A bounce occurring a day or two after you call out some Republican for tanking the market is entirely predictable - I ought to day trade contrary to your political analysis!  I don't have the cojones though...  Like you, I'm a buy and hold kind of trader.

Jim
The drop, in this case, was attributed to the surge in covid cases by the market pundits. If you think DeSantis doesn't share in the credit for the surge in Florida, then good luck in trading as a contrarian to my political analysis!grin
