If you ever post a link to an AP or Reuters article, wake me up.
Guys, this is one of the things that puzzles me most about Richard. Sometimes the stories that are most dear to him are reported, albeit reluctantly and cautiously, in mainstream or left-biased sources. Why not hit you "lefties" with a source like that? It would sure make it harder to dismiss that there might be some "there" there on some of these stories.
Here for example is a New York Times from day before yesterday, it is not paywalled: https://dnyuz.com/2023/08/19/inside-the-collapse-of-hunter-bidens-plea-deal/
The Times is exploring the collapse of the Hunter Biden plea deal. They do not talk about the "Biden crime family" and they do not identify Garland as the most corrupt AG in the history of the union. They do not talk about the President at all. They do talk a lot about the IRS whistleblowers, and this may be the first time the average NYT reader has heard of the IRS whistleblowers.
When the Times start reporting on this aspect of the overall story, what shoe drops next? It is pretty much indisputable that Hunter grifted millions from foreign governments based upon his last name alone. The germane questions of course are was Joe Biden aware (I personally think the answer has to be yes). That alone demonstrates that Joe Biden lied to the people. Next question, was Joe Biden complicit? Actively involved? The evidence is mounting from various sources who are more or less reputable. Did the DOJ slow walk the investigation to protect both Bidens? Looks like they did. This story is escaping the realm of the right-wing press.
My point is twofold. Locally, a NYT story like this is much more defensible to liberals and moderates than a right-wing screed from the Daily Epoch. Sure the NYT does not call Joe Biden the head of a crime syndicate, but they are now paying attention. This is an important development.
Nationally, I think Biden is going to have real trouble hanging in as the D candidate. Especially when the NYT and similar sources next start to publish work that does not make him look categorically innocent. What happens after that if/when these left-biased sources really dig in to the bank records and other documentary evidence? I think it is going to be harder and harder for Biden to continue to distance himself from Hunter's graft in the coming days.
