Trump blabbing stupidly on TV pales in my view to a coordinated, pervasive, three year campaign of lies that culminated in a special counsel investigation and impeachment.   Mueller found no evidence of Russian collusion by Trump.   Schiff and his stooges in the press will never pay a price for their fraud on America, but they should.

It is entirely proper in my view to despise Schiff for his lies and manipulations, even though his target, Donald Trump, is and was a threat to democracy, and unambiguously made the investigation/impeachment falsely orchestrated by Schiff so much worse.   The ends never justify the means when the means involve the subversion of law.

“For whatever reason over the last year and a half, the president has viewed me as a threat,” he told The Associated Press. “His allies in Congress have likewise come to his assistance in attacking me. And more recently:
"Adam Schiff Doesn't Give An Inch On Trump-Russia Allegations: "To Most Americans, That Is Collusion""
""To most Americans, that is collusion," Schiff said. "Now, whether it's proof beyond a reasonable doubt of the crime of conspiracy -- that's what Bob Mueller was talking about -- I have always distinguished between the two."
"But let me just set the record straight. This is only one of a shifting series of rationalizations and pretexts that McCarthy is using," Schiff said."
" If you read the Mueller report, he makes clear even in the first few pages of the report that he states no conclusion on whether Donald Trump and his campaign colluded with the Russians.
"But what he does reveal in his report, what we found in our investigation is that Donald Trump's campaign manager was sharing internal campaign polling data and a strategy for key battleground states with an agent of Russian intelligence, while that same unit of Russian intelligence was helping the Trump campaign, both with the hacking-and-dumping operation, as well as a social media operation to elect Donald Trump."

I, and certainly others, agree with that...
I agree with the Mueller report, which Schiff mischaracterizes.

Schiff's statement is so ridiculously dangerous!  Schiff is obviously moving the goal posts -> "To Most Americans..."   Give me a break!  For three years Schiff promised us illegal collusion - "high crimes and misdemeanors"!  He made these promises and predictions of criminal activity knowing it was all premised on lies.   "To Most Americans" is a meaningless BS dodge that Schiff is now using to cover his dishonest tracks.

Similarly, most Americans think Trump broke the law with his involvement in the Jan 6 riots.  (I don't know yet).  The opinion of "Most Americans" is a political reality, but it is meaningless as far as Jack Smith's prosecution goes.   If Smith can not win convictions, then Trump won, Trump was exonerated, and Trump will probably be the next president because of DOJ overreach.   The opinions of "most Americans" are meaningless in this context and for Schiff to play that card is disgraceful.   Jim

This is 100% true.   "As a lawyer" is the only proper way to look at something like collusion and high crimes and misdemeanors in my opinion.  Mob bosses get taken down all the time by talented, diligent, prosecutors acting as agents of law, not pragmatism.

I am counting on the voters showing Trump the final boot in 2024.  This is where my pragmatism vests.  I am worried that potential or perceived DOJ and State AG overreach will energize a lot of voters.   This is a pragmatic point of view as well.

Bottom line, I think the D's were dishonest, knew they were being dishonest and face-planted on Russian collusion.  So , in my opinion, Schiff is as wrong as he can be to now say (paraphrased), 'well - sure we could not prove anything legally, but Trump is perceived to be guilty by the American people."   Heaven help us if we are reading in 3-4 years that Jack Smith lost big in Court, but won in the court of public opinion.

COLORADO's Ken Buck!

If Buck doesn't cave, and it doesn't appear that he will, perhaps the realization that allegations are not evidence will actually prevail...

Meanwhile, over in the senate:

"Senate Republicans say the House GOP doesn’t appear to have enough evidence to pursue impeachment proceedings against President Biden and are skeptical about the prospect of setting up an inquiry with multiple committees already investigating the president and his son, Hunter Biden. "

"Republican senators are highly skeptical that Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) could even muster enough votes in the House to pass an article of impeachment and warn it would be quickly dismissed if it ever got to the Senate, possibly without going to a full trial."

I would never have guessed that Ken Buck would become a RINO too.   Still, by comparison to MTG, aren't we all?  wink

It's Burbank dude, who are we to cast judgement?   In any case, you personally seem to be extremely fascinated with alternative lifestyle stories that have no national scope at all.  Is there something you want to tell us?

One of my own personal values as a conservative is to live and let live.  Who am I to judge cross dressers or transgendered individuals?

Let me make an analogy:  I think we agree that the vast, overwhelming, majority of individuals who lawfully, properly, and safely own guns should not have their rights abridged because of the minority who commit crimes with their guns.   We agree on that, right?  We also agree that the liberals in DC, Hollywood, or in the press who despise and mock the countless lawful gun owners in middle America are asses.  Right?

Similarly, why should we care about the vast overwhelming majority of folks who lawfully, properly, and safely live alternative lifestyles, even if those lifestyles do not appeal to us?   Because of this, I consider any conservative who categorically denigrates, mocks, "others", or despises those who make different lifestyle choices to be a hypocrite.  Sadly, you and so many other faux conservatives seem to fall into this category, see above.

In my opinion, conservatives should live and let live, unless someone else's choices are likely to victimize a third party.  This applies to gun ownership, sexual/gender lifestyle choices, and any number of other social issues.   Jim

These are slurs of millions of people for personal lifestyle choices, yet you would have us believe that you are a "live and let live" kind of guy?   No one buys that lie Rich.  No more than anyone believes you are pro-life, pro-woman, or open minded in any way.   Jim

The tell here is that you find a harmless drag performance at a political fundraiser comparable to criminal bestiality.   Yes, you are clearly a “live and let live” open minded guy.   For sure…..   Anyone buying what Rich is selling?
