Washington DC Then and Now

I took this one of the Cabin John Bridge with my blackberry as I had driven all the way there before I realized I had forgotten my camera. The span is over 200 feet across. Today it has 3 lanes of road underneath it on the left side. Making that road narrowed the stream quite a bit. I plan to head out there again, with the camera this time to get a clearer shot.

I read today that they were going to work on ironing out issues and bring it up for a vote in February. I think we'll have to wait for the final version to pass judgement.

State of the Union Speech

We must have been watching different speeches. What I got from it was that he wants to get 1 trillion more in taxes from the top 2 percent and not cut any spending. Maybe the government does need additional revenue but they shouldn't get one cent more until the can demonstrate some fiscal responsibility. So much of the speech was designed to put the focus on congress and not his ineptitude.

LA County Supervisors OK Light Pollution Control
