Colorado State Supreme Court proves that totalitarianism is up and running and in high gear among the Communist Democrat party. Chief Justice dissents w/ 2 other justices. Pres. Trump's due process has once again been denied by the Totalitarian Left.

I'd say that response is mind boggling, but then I just consider the source.

I'd compare your response to a person having his entire home blown off its foundation by an EF5 rated tornado and the homeowner says "I hope to God that our mailbox is still standing"....
I posted earlier why I think the decision is wrong legally and politically.  Are you too dense to read and understand my position?

No offense Dave, but I never said the CO Supreme Court is biased!   I called out Rod for his endless bullshit allegations that the SCOTUS is biased and unethical.  Personally, I think the Colorado Supreme Court got this one wrong, but I do not think they are biased in the political sense.  I hope you understand my point, this is important to me.

This may be subtle, but bear with me - I disagree with all sorts of opinions Ruth Bader Ginsberg wrote over her long career, so I arguably disagree with her legal bias.  I have never and I would never accuse her of political bias.  i.e. bending the law to her political point of view.

Rod makes these accusations all the time.  He slanders Clarence Thomas on a near daily basis and it is wrong, unseemly, and ignorant.  Rod does not just disagree with Thomas as a matter of law.  Rod goes further and accuses him of political bias and unethical behaviors.   I sincerely hope that everyone understands this distinction.  Jim

Hi George:  The part I bolded is the issue indeed.  Nicely put.  I am in favor of a narrow interpretation of those words.  With a broad interpretation, it is far too easy for one side to target the other with vague allegations of insurrection, just because a politician may disagree vehemently with the majority.

I would not be opposed to a court trying Trump for insurrection.  Maybe they would convict!  But probably not, since no one has tried - and for this reason I do not want him taken of the ballot by a court.

Predicting How Scotus Will Decide Trump's Colorado Ballot Case

Seems like the cons will romp on procedural contexts and so-called "due process" issues while disregarding the substance and substantiation of the majority opinion of the Colorado supreme court.
The author lost credibility when he analogized Trump and Jan 6 to Jefferson Davis and the Civil War.   Talk about a stretch!

And Clarence gives no indication he will recuse himself from Trump's election interference case despite his wife's efforts to overthrow the results of the free and fair 2020 presidential election:

I didn't make up the stuff about Thomas claiming he was going RVing in Walmart parking lots while he's was jet setting on the dime of wealthy conservative donors or getting free tires and batteries for his vehicle, either. And, I don't see other SCOTUS judges advocating for cases to be brought before them so they can be "revisited", either.

I don't understand why you apparently don't see a problem with Thomas in all of the above...
Wake me up when you can find one instance, one single instance where Thomas changed or modified his well known legal principles in return for gifts, outside influences or any other consideration other than his legal principles.

Also, since you think Thomas ought to recuse himself because of his wife's politics, I presume that you think Biden should step down because his only living son is guilty of many criminal acts?

If Thomas's rich friend (or a business he controls) ever has a case before the Supreme Court, I would expect Thomas to recuse himself.   You on the other hand expect recusal from any case that has politically conservative ramifications.  This is a standard you do not apply to the liberals on the Court.  Jim

Excellent.  I still think that the standard for invoking the 14th Amendment ought to be conviction of insurrection.   This is a legal argument.   It seems that all anyone can appreciate here are political arguments.

Are those the ones you are referring to, where you didn't offer up any legal theories whatsoever to challenge the totalitirian decisions by these 4 leftitsts on the Colo. SC, and instead just said, "oh yeah, I think it will backfire" and "I think there are better ways of going about the situation"?

LOL!

I wonder if anyone could have offered up more generic and LESS forceful responses to the  bastardization of the 14th amendment in which these 4 justices engaged, than your apathetic responses?

In summary, this is essentially your position when asked.

Question:  "So counselor, what do you think of what these 4 justices did in a ruling which could be the most important Constitutional decision of this century in the US or any other Century in the United States"?

Answer:  "um.... well yeah I think they are wrong".

Question:  "So then what is your opinion on the Constitutional implications of this incredible decision and the repercussions it will hold for the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights throughout the USA"?

Answer:  "um.... what?  Oh yeah, it'll probably ensure that Donald Trump becomes President again which I and the rest of the left don't want".

Question:  "So then counselor, are you worried about the future of the ability of the Constitution of the US to protect the rights of the citizenry across the board to ensure that they will have an unimpeded right to choose whom their candidate will be, and that ensures their vote as outlined in the US Constitution".

Answer:  "Huh?  Oh yeah, it'll probably be overturned by the SCOTUS"..

Ok, I guess I missed your staunch conviction and outrage at what this Colorado Supreme Court did last night.  Glad I revisted your MOST Forceful arguments against what these 4 tyrants did at the CO Supreme Court of Colorado.

I guess I should have looked closer at your responses.   wink
You are too dumb to get it, but my position was quite clear:

"I expect the Supreme Court to overturn, because I think that is the right decision.  Trump has not been charged with insurrection in any court proceeding.  He of course has not been convicted of insurrection in any court proceeding.  Maybe the 14th Amendment contemplates "insurrection" in some sort of generic sense, but I think that is a bad standard because it opens the issue up to 50 different interpretations.  Jim"

I see that the problem in your eyes is that I am not outraged!   You are such a fool.  There is no cause for outrage.  I disagree with the 4-3 majority of the Colorado Supreme Court on a legal interpretation issue, but the majority decision is defensible.   Outrage is for fools who are too dense to appreciate that these are complex issues, and fools who think their own opinion is the only defensible opinion.   Fools like you.

Way over 1/2 of the population approved of the Dred Scott decision.   That has no bearing whatsoever on whether Dred Scott was right or wrong.
