"Since Memorial Day, the traditional start of summer, more than a dozen states, including Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Kentucky, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas and Utah have recorded spikes in hospitalizations, according to data from CNN aggregated from the Covid Tracking Project. Infections are rising in 18 states, according to CNN data. The virus is steady in nine states and down in 21. Two states, Michigan and Massachusetts, are not included in the count for temporary technical reasons to do with how they are processing data.
Aggressive openers Texas and Florida have both seen recent increases in infections. Arizona just told its hospitals to activate emergency plans amid an increase of cases."

Jim,
In California it may be "manageable"(and that's your opinion) but in Arizona it clearly is not and nearly 80% of their ICU spaces are currently devoted to Covid19 cases.
I haven't gone thru the other states on their hospitalization rates but that's a critical factor that needs to be examined...

California has a "scary" looking trend in the raw infection graph for example, reproduced below.  But California is still at a manageable 123 deaths per million.  Compare that to NY at 1577 deaths per million or NJ at 1404.  I would like to see what is happening with California's rate of positive tests too. I may look for that later.  The rate of positive tests is a good control to determine whether the actual infection rate is increasing, or whether the apparent infection rate is going up because of more testing.  Trump may well lose the election (to the eternal joy of the CNN staff), but I don't think that any small and predictable Covid 19 spikes in June or July will be the cause.*

* A big-time resurgence in September-October could be the nail in Trump's coffin (metaphorically).  Look for CNN to start touting the fall Covid 19 resurgence in about August.

Somehow, I don't think Wall Street agrees with you...

Do you not recognize the difference?

Since Schutzstaffel is a single German word, perhaps Trump's tweet had no goofiness to it at all, and maybe the author and you are the stupid ones who are looking for a reason to criticize him for his every utterance?

Did that ever cross your mind?  I doubt that it did, because that would take some sort of intellect on your part.
And he was just "inspecting" dur bunker last week, too...

It's pretty amazing to see the POTUS get into these Twitter feuds with other political leaders, especially when he has no authority to act. It just makes him look weak and pathetic. Especially now that the military has broken ranks with his desire to used federal military powers for domestic law-enforcement. The only real question left is who else can our idiot POTUS alienate? Is there anyone else left at this point?
OTH, if you're an enthusiastic Trump rally attendee, here's what you'll need to sign before entering:
“By attending the rally, you and any guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and agree not to hold Donald J. Trump for President, Inc.,” or the venue liable “for any illness or injury,”...

From what I've been hearing on CNN, Trump is banking on the culture wars to bring him to victory in 2020. That's HIS strategy and he wants it that way...
