M81 and M82

Really nice wide field. Great way to take advantage of the conditions. And you have to wonder, just how many of those "stars" are really more distant "friends".

M13 and a sad MaxIm story!!

!! To bad about the non-exposures. I wish I could say something like that hasn't happened to me, but...

Nice m13 though.

M13, just a start

So how much is "a bunch?" I'd say add color data on this one. Nice wide field with lots of detail, but you can still see more lurking in the background. M13 is one of the objects I have to repeat to see improvement from year to year.

That is a nice M13. I like the big version. You have lots of edge stars, but can still them into the core.

wich to buy

I agree with the webcam approach. For deep sky you would also need to spend way more on a mount.

That sure is a great "first pass" image. You bring out the details nicely.

That is a great single shot. For stacking, though, I suggest skipping the "autodark" feature and also take a series of darks (again 5 or more) to combine and subtract from each light frame. After that, you will also be able to tell that a good flat frame will help your processing ability too.

M13 with the APM 130/780 LW triplet apo

Nice. Glad to hear that someone else stayed up way to late too. I like the off-center shot to grab the galaxy. I don't quite have that much field of view. Last night I spent some time on M95 and took advantage of reasonable seeing to get some more M51. And then sometime after 2:00, I decided I should compare M13 with my previous attempts. I only took two 2 minute shots each of RGB, so there are some artifacts that didn't average out. But 10x60sec L that I did get to combine with Sigma Beta.

(I am almost glad it is cloudy tonight, so I can get some sleep.)

M106 with many others in the same field

Looks like a good beginning. Stars are nice and round. How long was the shot, or was it multiple frames that were stacked?
