I've been researching peoples experiences with both, positive or negative as I'm interested in stepping up to a 12" truss tube dob, and would appreciate any comments about each based on experience.  my budget is more Orion/Skywatcher, not New Moon/Teeter/Obsession.

I have owned several 8 " newtonians and 5 10" newts, two were Orion intelliscopes and I still have the last 10i I bought.  I've also owned 3 12" (2 I pieced together myself), 2 14" and 1 16" newt.I've always favored the 10" newts over the 8s, because of the extra brightness one can see in DSOs.  as far as the 12s, 14s and the 16, I lean towards the 14 as the quality of one particular 14  (Earl Watts made the mirror) was such that it regularly outperformed some 16s side by side, and the 16 was a monster to transport.  I have had 6" f-5s as well.  over all I would like to have a 6", 10" and 14" newt as they seem to cover all of my astronomical cravings for now.
  If I were in your shoes , I'd go with the 10i even though it's a little more cumbersome.  Of course it's all your choice.  I believe Orion scopes have GSO mirrors, but they are of very good quality.

Recently I've been considering getting back to a tracking mount.  I currently own an Orion 10" intelliscope and an Orion 6" StarBlast intelliscope.  at first I was debating whether to go for a Celestron Nexstar 6 or a Celestron Nexstar 8, and I found myself leaning towards the 8, but I wonder if the Skywatcher 10" collapsible goto dob might be even better.  Like the fact that it has a 2" focuser as I have a number of 2" eyepieces.  I have NO interest in imaging , only visual so other views would be helpful.  Thanks for any pros and cons you all could offer.
