I am assuming that you have the old push-pull pvc focuser thats glued into the tube. Thats what my Odyssey 10 inch had. What I did was to buy a helical adapter from Lumicon thats screws on to the fitting thats attached to the tube. Just unscrew the old pvc pipe fitting and screw this one on. I've replaced it with a JMI reverse crayford the other day and still have the Lumicon adapter that I was going to put up here on AM, but if you are interested, drop me a line.

If you check the web site, they offer quite a discount on bulk (50 pcs or more) but do not sell individual scopes.
I have the 66mm petz. (William Optics branded) and really like it. So far I've had it up tp 174x on the moon and the views were almost color free (very slight yellow shading on the inside limb using a 2.3 X-Cell) The optical quality and the build quality of these scopes are just fantastic.

I had noticed the same thing with both an Orion laser and one from Agena. They both produced a short line instead of a round dot. Also the Orion also had what looked to be a cresent shaped moon under the line. I took them apart to see if there was something that could be done. First thing I noticed was that they both looked like the same thing the gas stations and corner party stores were selling. The man at the corner party store let me go thru his supply of lasers untill I found two that produced a nice round dot on the wall at about ten feet away. I paid $2.50 each for them, built a V-block to collimate, and now have standered and deluxe units that form nice, clean round dots when I use them.

To loosen up the lens cell, pull the lens shade from the scope and with the scope pointed up, grab the retaning ring and unscrew it about a half a turn so that the lens is loose in the cell. Just barely retighten the retaining ring untill it just touches the lens. Tap the tube against the side of your hand and recheck the retaining ring. Don't worry about the lens falling out. you would have to unscrew the retaining ring compleatly to get the lens out. There is an execellant group on Yahoo called 80F5. I sugest you join and check out the file section. Download the tune-up file and read it. as it contains a lot of useful information for this scope. I have one of these and think they are great!

have you checked for hobby stores around your area? Some times they sell scopes and related items. I'm like you, I like to see and try out things before I buy. I'm lucky here, as there is a hobby store here that carries most major makers and has a get together every Thursday night where they set up equipment in the outside lot and let you come try it out. Otherwise, it's the internet and mail order

For the feet, one or two pieces of carpet work well as an insulator. Just scrape away the snow and lay them down where you are standing (or sitting). For the hands, you can't beat a pair of mittens. Most sporting goods stores carry mittens that open up on the right hand (so you can get your finger in the trigger gaurd to shoot) and just your fingers stick out.
Of course a good pair of boots are a must, but don't let your feet get so warm that they sweat.
Ditto on the head gear, you loose most of your body heat thru your head. And avoid any alcohol. That shot of fine Kentucky Burbon may make you feel warmer, but it only lasts for a few moments. Then your blood capillaries rise closer to the skin surface and you loose body heat even faster than before.

Robert. Not sure if the C-11 is like the C-8, but the ledge that the corrector sets on does not go all the way around. It has 2 gaps in it. If the C-11 is the same, you may be able to remove the retaning ring, and having a friend or maybe using some tape to hold the corrector in place, tilt the tube down so the shavings will drop down to where one of the gaps are at. You might try a vaccum placed in front of the gap also to assist in removing the shavings.
