the data are from cdc, but the study ,thus the estimate, has been done by Harvard medical school based on that data.
For your info : (Harvard) "assessed death rates after taking into account education, income, and many other factors, including smoking, drinking, and obesity. It estimated that lack of health insurance causes 44,789 excess deaths annually."

it is immoral to stack up a profit based on the hope that someone else gets ill.
in many countries (japan comes to mind) this insurance business is not allowed to be traded in the stock market basically for this reason.

My idea is that isurance companies have an immoral bussiness model because their need to increase their profit can only be fulfilled by dening coverage and increasing premiums. They are not like any other company that creates value
and contributes to the economic growth. They only disrupt the average american family.
In other capitalistic countries these companies are not traded in the stock market.

The budget is 65% Medicare plus Social security plus medicaid plus interset on the debt. The remaing 35% is , I think, equally devided into defense and some other form of spending (infrastructure and the like).
There was a surplus in the bagdet at some point right?
Cash flow has been wildely positive for social security in the last decade, that has created a surplus that now is gone

scam done for the profit of whoever starts it. There is a big difference.
The mechanism of social security insures the retiree an income, regardless of market fluctuations.
