I have asked nicely several times for people here to treat each other with respect. The name calling and hate needs to stop now.

You will be civil to one another

This includes everyone. If you cannot be civil go away. This includes EVERYONE.

This is MY response to some debate on Poverty here in the USA and abroad that is taking place here tonight:

Believe it or not the USA is a pretty damn good place to live. Perfect? No. But We spend so much time in this country complaining about what we do not have instead of being thankful for what we do. Poverty in the USA, a little, but lets be honest, we (even the poor) live like kings compared to the majority of the people on the planet.

I am not wanting to debate this, this is my OPINION. I am entitled to that. Just as everyone else here is entitled to theirs.

Perhaps, like the theory of relativity much of this is based on the point of view of the observer. All of us are right, and at the same time wrong. Weird.

So, let's cool it before the beatings need to begin.

A friend of mine on Astromart, yes I consider all of you here friends, recently said the following:

"I also really believe that things we need to keep us alive should be socialized."

I am curious as to what exactly those "things" are?

Is it possible we can have a debate on this without going off topic?

In my view these are things we need vs. want in the order of priority:

Clean air (Need)
Clean water (Need)
Food (Need)
Shelter (Need)
Clothing (Need)

To me, pretty much everything else would fall into the "Want" catagory...

What say all of you?

2nd light for my rebuilt 14" f/5.4
3/4" plate glass mirror that I ground myself.

Still have some wood to remove and some staining / sealing. I did see M57 and split the Double Double easily at 90x.

Barlow Question - What am I?

Picked this up at a atar party swap meet. I think it is a Siebert Optics 2.5X (2 inch) barlow, but am not sure if it is a standard or "telecentric" version. Any idea's or info on how they perform?
