PRIMARY MIRROR ON LXD55 BECAME LOOSE

Posted By Ricardo Amador

Hello, I took my telescope to a star party this weekend, and my dad
didn't care too much about driving carefully, when I inspected the
OTA I noticed that the back cell that attaches the primary mirror to
the collimation ring, se pic, was becoming loose, should I remove the
primary mirror from the OTA to glue this or should just glue it with
out removing the primary mirror, I was thinking about gluing with a
SuperBonder, those fast drying glues that are small and bond very
strong. Should I use this type of glue?, or is out there one that is
better?. If I do have to remove the primary how do I do so?, do I
have to mark where the screws go to or there is no need to put them
right where they were?, also what Allen key should I use for this,
the fine one that came with the telescope doesn't work. And also I noticed the primary mirror is not exactly centered with the ring it is attached to, maybe because of the movement, should I dissasemble and fix this?, or do I run and risk on doing so?

Thank you. Ricardo R. Amador

NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE READ!!!!!!!!!!

Posted By Ricardo Amador

I have a question, yeap, i took the mirror out just to find out it didn't move and it was my crazy idea. I cleaned some spots and made some very fine but long scratches. But they arent visible if I point a light directly to it, only when I look at it up close and from an angle, will this affect my views?, also I was very tired yesterday and don't remember if i put the mirror back to the same place, everything seems fine, can anyone send me a pic of the inside of the telescope showing the focuser and the 3 clips so I can see if they have the same orientation?

Thanks a lot

Correction:

"paper ring holding my LXD55 Schimdt Newtonian was a bit out" is "paper ring holding my LXD55 Schimdt Newtonian's corrector plate" was a bit out
