NGC6888, first HA

Posted By Tom Osterholt

This is my first attempt using a H-A filter. I'm not really sure what I'm doing with it. Do I use the H-A just as I would use the Luminus in a LRGB image. Anyway, that is what I did in this shot but it kind of washes out the color. The image consists of: H-A = 60 min. (15 min subs) R= 15 min, G = 15, B 15 min. I really can't see much difference in using the H-A or a regular lum. image. The filter is a 13nm, Thanks for any help guys! Tom

Question about the Part #TOA130R reducer

Posted By Tom Osterholt

Hi , I was wondering if anyone knows if the TOA130R focal reducer for the TOA-130 will also work on the TOA-150 or does it have to be the new "Super Reducer"
Thanks, Tom

Tak serial numbers?

Posted By Tom Osterholt

Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone knew how Tak arrives at their serial #'s that are embossed on their scopes. They are like a five digit number, even on rather new scopes,(like the TOA-150) it couldn't be the number produced so far. Could some of the numbers be the year of assembly or something? Thanks for the help, Tom

Horsehead with new ST-10XME

Posted By Tom Osterholt

This is my first attempt with my brand new ST10XME. It is a total of 45m Ha, then 15m RGB. Shot thru a Tak TOA-150 at F/5.8 I'm still haveing trouble with the color processing. Using CCDsoft and PSPro, I know, I need to get Photoshop, but will someone buy it for me? Thanks, Tom

My Dream Setup has materialized

Posted By Tom Osterholt

I finally have my dream setup. My wife Cathy recently jointed me in retirement and I guess she was feeling pretty good about it. She let me purchase my dream scope, TOA-150, FS-78 on top, and also a ST10xme to go along with it! (Just need to learn how to use it)
It also may have helped to let her have a new kitchen remodel, but what ever works!!

Another Rose

Posted By Tom Osterholt

This is an attempt of NGC2237 that I shot last night thru a FS-78 at F/6.5. It is a ST10xme image consisting of 40m=ha, 10m=L, 10m ea RGB. The blue channel is really bloated. I used CCDsoft and Paintshop Pro to do the processing this morning. It still a work in progress but I'm taking a break. Thanks for any advise!

M42

Posted By Tom Osterholt

Hi, This is another attempt of M42 and the running man. Shot thru a TOA-150 at F/5.8 with a WO .8 reducer. It is 25m ha, 7m ea.RGB I really burn out the core of the nebula but I'm really just practicing on processing the other stuff in the image. I used CCDsoft and Paintshop Pro for processing. This one is kind of fun to play with, I probably got carried away! Tom
