eyepieces for alter 603...help

Posted By Michael Kawada

Awaiting the arrival of a used Intes Micro Alter 603 (f/10, 1500mm focal length). Wondering what eyepieces to get for it, in the 1.25" range only. Was thinking 32mm UO Konig II, a GTO 7-23mm zoom, and the 6mm UO Ortho I currently own. Any recommendations for EP under $100 used? How is the Intes Micro 21mm 70 deg FOV kelner? Thanks in advance.

GP, LXD55, or CG5

Posted By Michael Kawada

Capacity, weight, and quality-wise, are all three mount heads (not including tripods) identical, or does the GP beat the other two?

Small eyepiece set for a 15" F/4.5 ??

Posted By Michael Kawada

Getting back into the hobby after a few years. 15" F/4.5 dob! Looking for a small (3 or 4-piece) eyepiece collection.

Any recommendations from other dob owners? Thinking about the TV Nagler 3-6mm zoom, but I need a medium and low power eyepiece, too.

24mm Panoptic vs. 28mm Siebert Ultra

Posted By Michael Kawada

1750mm F/4.5 Dob.

Televue Panoptic 1.25"
- .93 true FOV
- 73x mag
- 5.3 exit pupil
- $310 new, would be used though

Siebert Ultra 1.25"
- .96 true FOV
- 63x mag
- 6.2 exit pupil
- $140 new

If the TV is significantly better it will justify spending the extra money for a used one over a new Siebert.

Dielectric vs non-dielectric diagonals

Posted By Michael Kawada

Diaelectric models:
TV Everbrite
AP Maxbrite
Lumicon Lumibrite
Intes Deluxe

The Meade UHTC is not a diaelectric. Celestron does not have one currently as far as I know.
